@@kikihopeful7810 literally. Like is Dylan Roof a boomer now? Are all the internet incel white supremacists boomers now? Are the people who comment the snowflake emoji every time anything relating to bigotry boomers now? The frat guys who just really enjoy the n-word? Gen Z wants to pretend that we are better than boomers bc we’re young (just like any generation of teenagers who want to stick it to mom and dad) but a lot of them just see activism as an aesthetic for the generation and most of the white/privileged ones don’t actually give a shit about anything. Just like every generation.

@@omgitskittyandjaja THIS COMMENT HIT EVERY POINT 😭 I see it on tiktok all the time, someone gets politely corrected on misusing aave and then they reply with even more misuse, a popular account did it and when they were corrected they liked replies that told the person who POLITELY CORRECTED THEM to “die”, they also made their entire bio a whole bunch of nonsense aave. Gen Z is racist trash like the rest of the generations they’re just better at hiding it with performative activism. Non-black Gen Z are always “allies” until you correct them

I’ve noticed that whenever The Shaderoom posts a celebrity that isn’t a poc, it’s usually a member of the lgbtq community. ( i.e Demi Lovato, Caitlyn Jenner, Jojo Siwa, etc. ) and the post will almost always be about their sexual orientation or gender identity and will be up for no other reason than to breed hate and bigotry in the comments. The real kicker is that age doesn't matter in animation bc no one sees the voice actors/actresses. No one would notice when a 63 year old woman voices a ten year old boy, but it's blatantly obvious when the actor is physically in the movie.

@@TuesdaysArt I honestly prefer animation to live action because of stuff like this. as a minor, adults only seem to care about minors when its convenient for them and their own standpoint. and not to sound edgy and shit, but i don't get how they question why kids are the way they are today. if you looked at the environment and atmosphere that we're growing up and living in, you'd probably feel the same way! but yknow, forgive me, i just remembered that im a dumb little kid who knows nothing about the world. also thank you for the "its not your fault" part of the vid. when it comes to grooming whenever i see adults try to like give warnings to kids about grooming on the internet, even if it has good intentions it still feels really victim-blamey. i don't see that much that's just "its not your fault, if an adult is trying to do anything with you then they are gross and weird and completely in the wrong". its really a nice fresh breath of air.

Well, I think it’s a mix a both. Our generation (Gen-Z) literally grew up with the internet. It is part of our learning at this point and 95% of children will be addicted to the internet/phone. My psychologist even told me that more and more psychologists have to add an additional segment to their practices, because they realize that a lot of issue that we have (anxiety, self-esteem issues, parasocial relationships, lack of attention, depression, etc.) is related to the internet. An obsessive usage of the internet will most likely worsen the chemical imbalances in your brain since looking at a screen as been proven to be a factor. It sadly something that I had to come to term in therapy, but at the same time, I can’t blame nobody since our entire world literally revolves around the internet, especially during the panoramic.

Something that been bothering me recently: Shaming black women for wearing bonnets in the public omg this is seriously annoying, all the discourse surrounding this makes no sense it’s all rooted in anti blackness, misogynoir, classism, elitism, texturism, and respectability politics and I don’t rock with it especially when us black men wear our durag all the time in the public especially during summer time so what’s the problem for black women doing for them? Flo milli being snubbed from the BET Awards for Best Female Rapper this makes no sense tbh I don’t get it, I honestly don’t get it- ACTUALLY no I get it colorism you can’t tell me otherwise I’m sorry there’s no reason or explanation to why it was Megan Thee Stallion as the only dark skin/brown skinned black female rapper in the list and everyone else was light skinned and biracial. Doja cat: I get well deserved nomination, cardi b: she did had 2 number one singles both in 2020 and earlier this year although she didn’t do anything besides those 2 #1s I get it I guess, saweetie: to be fair her songs tap in and best friends charted well, Biracial Slur (her real name is Latto/Mulatto but I don’t rock with her so): I mean I guess her first album charted and her collaboration with Gucci mane went gold, she got some attention but like nah not just bc I personally don’t like her but idk if she was worthy for a nomination and Coi: now this makes no sense like homegirl just know started gaining attention as her songs no more parties, and big purr were released a few months ago right when the eligibility for the BET awards was ending so that made no sense. So again colorism justice for Flo Milli and hopefully either Megan or Doja Cat wins

Yesterday on Tik Tok there was a video of a mother beating her child for talking to and sending pics to an older man. The child was obviously groomed and manipulated into doing those actions. And I said that and literal children started screaming at me in the comments about how they are smarter, how her mom shoulda beat her harder, and how it was the girls fault that the adult manipulated and groomed her. I was so done. And obviously she was a black girl so everyone was saying oh she knew what she was doing, she shouldn’t have talked to him or lead him on. When this man contacted her.🙄

I wish that black and BIPOC creators had more freedom in expressing their experiences on social media platforms without being suppressed, deemed not friendly to advertisers, and demonetized. These platforms contribute the system of oppression by silencing the voices and censoring the language used around these topics. Same could be said for queer folk.

It always rubbed me the wrong way whenever people cited as children being in the wrong for using Twitter and their solution is Twitter should be 18+ only. Like this also isn't to say children can't be wrong, they can be, but it's also the responsibility of adults to not be fucking weird to kids.
