The worst thing is when their stans come to their defence saying shit like "we've all done/said something racist in the past." Um????? No we haven't??? Some of us actually have common sense?? Smh at this point the bar is so low that it's not even a bar anymore, it's an underground pipe

Even if WE ALL did we aren’t repeating this shit. Most of us of course haven’t been racist I hope but even those who did have a racist past don’t have to prove they’re good now. Their actions do all the speaking for them and so they don’t have to constantly make apologies and cry about it. F this whole apologist wholesome vibe we give to people who are racists and never changed.

@Black Orchid 100%. People get offended because they feel personally attacked, but Amanda is just telling the truth. Racism and privilege exist. If they feel attacked personally by it then it's because they are guilty of not recognising their privilege, or their racist tendencies are getting called out. As a white person I don't get offended by what she says because I know it's true and I need to recognise that I am in a position of privilege compared to POC.

It’s interesting how “scandal” has evolved over the years. I feel like 10 years ago it was more “subtle” in a way, now it’s the new everyday occurrence. If a week passes and no new influencer “drama” erupts, I’d be surprised. Drama is now the new evolved form of entertainment and if it’s halted, there would be a deficit of the amount of views these people usually make. I feel like the few influencers which get into scandals, view it as a achievement or advancement in their careers.

This is just a guess, but maybe they don’t want to have to face the realization that they’re not as great as they’ve been told they are. White men are told they can do anything and there’s no limits to their dreams. Acknowledging the privilege means acknowledging the suffering of everyone else that allows white men to be put on a pedestal. It also means looking at the world differently, which they’ve never had to do since the world caters to their perspective.
