If you work for a foreign employer, you can apply for a digital nomad visa in Spain. The requirements are:
-Have a foreign employer or clients. You can apply as an employee or as a freelancer.
-Your professional contracts must be at least three months old.
-You need to have a university title related to your work activities or three years of experience in the field.
-The company you work for should have had activity for at least one year.
-Earn a salary or income of at least 2000 EUR (per applicant)
-If you apply with family members, 750EUR per month for the first dependent and 250EUR per month for any extra dependents. You might have the chance to get your application approved with savings to bring more dependents with you, but you might not be able to renew your application.
-The Spanish government wants to verify social security matters are in order. Therefore, you might need to show a letter stating that you will fulfill your tax obligations in your home country or Spain. If you are a freelancer, you can register as a freelancer in Spain. If you are a remote worker, they might need to register you in the country as a payer.
-You need to show criminal records of the countries where you have resided for the last two years.
-You also need to sign that you have a clean criminal record.
To maintain the digital nomad visa, you need to be in Spain for at least six months in the country. If you apply from Spain, you get three years; afterward, you can renew every two years. If you did not leave more than ten months during those five years, you can apply for Permanent Resident.
