HECK YEAH, TODAY IS MY 2 YEAR KZfaq ANNIVERSARY! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT EVERYONE! Today I will show you a few things that have gone wrong with my C8 Corvette and other peoples C8's. These are all things that I think GM should have known about and fixed before they released these cars, but these are typical growing pains on new cars, not to mention that this new C8 is a brand new platform Corvette. Have a wonderful rest of your week everyone!

Why would GM hide these issues from the public, therre is always teething issues in a ground up 1st model. Contact the dealer and The Corvette Concierge team, which is based at General Motors headquarters in Detroit, can be reached by calling 866-424-3892. I am a straight talker too and sound like the use of upper case letters " shouting" is it get click bait. Meanwhile, GM is building ventilators for CODVID 19 patients. while you whine about minor issues. Hey someone will buy your for C8 FOR 120k-150k. Fair and balance from GM perspective would help Straight Talker B****h

C8 looks too euro and i would not trust anything new from any new cars later than 2017.. buy classic cars at least you know what you have ... everything inside the C8 looks so fragile .. thanks for the info

drive it over the cats eyes on the hwy, the reflectors on the road, and then put a microphone near the door padding and see what it picks up after driving the left front tyres over cats eyes and not over cats eyes that will give you a idea if something is loose in the door etc, as far as the transmission is concerned, sometimes the fluid levels are not right when she leaves the factory, so get it checked, plus it would all be under warranty. So why are you complaining buddy to chevy, go out and buy the new C8 zl1 with 1064 HP maybe that will fix your problems. 👍👍✌✌🦘🦘

I’ve had my C8 for a little over a month now...1300 miles. I haven’t had any of these issues, I actually went out and tried to feel/hear the vibration in the cockpit at idle and door noise at 60-70 mph but I didn’t experience anything abnormal. No issues with the top either, I’ve got the carbon fiber top and just pull down on the levers inside while securing, it always goes easy/smooth. I enjoy your channel, congratulations on two years!

I have another c 8 being built, why do they not make the changes on the 2021 that are in production with the changes for 2022. Not sure why they would build another car 2021 or 2022 with issues as there are several recalls now

Thanks for the honest video . I know it’s upsetting, my 2008 Z06 was leaking transmission fluid the first month I had it . The dealership fixed it and I had no further issues. I still have the car and love it . I recently purchased a new 2019 Z06 and also love it . Growing pains are tough to deal with especially when you dish out a lot of money to purchase these cars , unless money isn’t an issue for you it’s upsetting for the average guy . I hope to buy the C8 Z06 when it comes out but I think I’ll wait a year or two so GM works out any issues. I hope GM watches your post and the customer care department reaches out to you and makes things right . Good luck buddy 🇺🇸

I’m not sure how to respond to this video. Got my c8 3 weeks ago. 1300km on it. I have not experienced any of the issues you have mentioned. I will say that the top is tight but I like that. I want my roof to fit tight rather than have it loose and noisy. I’m sure over time and use it will loosen up on its own. All new vehicles I have owned have had quirky problems, the problems you mention are very minor and if they were to escalate you have warranty. My experience with this car is that it has exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could of imagined. Quick reving powerful engine. The best transmission I’ve ever used, and saying that Doesn’t even do it justice. When people ask me about the car, which happens several times every time I drive it, my answer is always the same: the car is unbelievable and the transmission is even better. It’s like driving a video game. I like your channel and respect your opinions but my experience has been so far as perfect as I could have imagined.

Sorry to hear about your problems. There is nothing more frustrating than new car problems! I do not know if it there is any consolation in knowing that other brands have problems... We had a Lexus that the windshield cracked top to bottom at 500 miles, then the backseat window stopped working, at 12,000 miles it needed a new transmission. My Wife's Acura MDX has problems where when stopping at a traffic light, the car will not accelerate right away when the hits the gas. My 2019 Acura RDX needed the driver seat replaced at 3000 miles, and there is a strong vibration in reverse that Acura does not know how to fix it.

Mine is at the dealership getting a transmission fluid change to mobile 1, and a service. I also heard there are 2 bolts or screws missing in all of the front grills. its funny to see how the corvetteforums are already full with a huge variety of issues from leaks, to all sort of electronics, paint, fit and finish, noises, stitching, transmission and some people still try to convince you that it is normal for all new cars. It clearly isnt and taking a 28 year old ferrari with a door sealing issue problem doesnt even remotely relate to a 2020 car with this range of issues. Best is these arent even wear issues, wait for those in a year time. In the meantime problems are literally piling up each day with the c8 and they vary in nature too. Some are particularly disappointing because they are very well visible and thus the cars should have been taken from the line immediately. Some aesthetical problems are below golf level let alone supercars.

@@blueberrycobbler the comparison is cost. A new Vette fully optioned C8 is running you 100-130k or so with whatever goodies you'd like to outfit it with. Regardless, you're getting 495HP with no option for a transmission. The Z51 cars will have their slight plus for performance for a few extra bucks, but what you're getting with what you're expecting can make the difference between a whiney turd car buyer or someone that reflects the expectations of quality that the brand is projecting. If my leather is peeling on a brand new Honda Fit, I'm still gonna be like, well this is bogus. But if it's doing it on my brand new C8, I'm still gonna be in bogus mode, but it's because I expect that to be a quality issue that was worked out of the process at this level of a car. NOW, that being said, if my brand new Audi Rs8 fully optioned around 200k starts peeling leather, I'm going to be extremely upset that this is even a consideration to be expected. Even on a car like the Rs8, I'd expect some issues with things like transmissions or engine management systems, due to the complexity of those systems and their need to work with other complex, bi communication systems. But stuff like rubbing bolts, and leather peeling? That's an oversight due to poor mechanical engineering and or poor quality inspection.

I rented a new C8 for a few days recently i did a review on my channel a 2022 HTC the car had 9000 miles and im sure hard miles and the engine was also making very bad noises it was actually making me nervous to drive the car very far north, the noises sounded like wobbly engine pulley, bad belt tensioner bearings and tons of rattles, ticks and sounds that were far from normal. Kinda disappointed on a new car thats so expensive. The fans also were making bad noise that sounded as if the fan blade was wobbly and scraping something inside the side vents area. I told the exotic car rental company to urge them to get that car into service to look things over. Ive owned several Cadillac CTSV and they all suffered quality issues of the long bolts damaging fenders, dash leather shrinking and doors misaligned causing paint chips. its GM and union working could honestly care less. This is something you rarely see on a German car its a shame because GM does engineer good products but seem to always suffer QC.

You should already know problems will happen especially being it’s the first mid engine set up they put in a car it’s going to take a couple years till it’s perfect. He got it back to the shop and removed the door panel. Inside the door was a Coke bottle from when they were still made of glass. Inside the bottle was a note that read "How long did it take you to find this assh*le?" I kid you not. Really made his day.

@Mar Blox hmmmm, maybe, but I'd say there is a very good chance it will be better. I remember when I bought my first Vette, a brand new C5, I waited till the 98 model (second year of the C5) and they had fixed most of the issues identified in the first year. Still was not perfect, but much, much better. Then my next one, a 2002, had lots of improvements. Anyway, I'll be patient and see what the reviewers say.

Just took out my friends C8 3 days ago. 1,300 miles. Left my house, made 1 turn, he punched it and snapped his rear axle. Took it to the dealer to be serviced (tow truck, obviously) and they said they would be recalling several of the cars because they had an issue with the hardening of the axles... "a bad batch" of axles. Not sure if this is something anyone else has experienced, but I figured I'd share.

One of the biggest changes in the C8 is the engine. Many people are not aware of this as most are not motor heads - but the engine is radically different. 18436572 as a standard GM firing order with a “cross plane” crank shaft are no longer the deal... 18726543 with a open plane or flat plane crank is now the standard configuration... this flat plane configuration has been used for decades with European V8s but typically with smaller displacements... usually in the 3-4 liter range... not in a 6 liter configuration...why..? Vibration. Flat plane cranks are very vibration susceptible - as a matter of fact the C8 entry at the 24. Hours of Daytona retired due to vibration issues.. so,e manufacturers use active damping motor mounts and other internal remedies to combat the issue but the primary solution is to limit displacement... just figured I’d add this to the discussion as is has been mentioned in a number of technical journals which are part of GM’s racing debriefings....

I have had two check engine light come on in less than a 1k miles. Dealer says its an issue with the DCT solenoids. I have been hearing a "whining" noise from the DCT ever since I passed the 500 mile break in. Also I found the screw on the drivers side to be very close to chipping the door. I fixed that myself. I have also noticed rough idling after start up, and it sometimes sounds like a miss in the engine.

I can't speak directly to the C8 as I'm still driving a C6. My C6 was near the end of life for that series being a 2012. However, mine was a bigger lemon than you'd expect for a brand new model year. In the process of dealing with my issues, I learned one very big painful lesson that I want to share. If you have a car that has any issues at all while still under warranty, NEVER EVER walk out with the diagnosis of "well we can't see the issue right now....bring it back in if it happens again". I started having an intermittent electrical issue that started when the vette was less than 2 yrs old, hence still had well over a full year of warranty remaining. I would bring it in and they would scan the computer codes. The codes were random body codes that never pointed to anything that made sense, so they wouldn't replace any parts. I got frustrated and took it to another GM Service Center and had the same results. The warranty was about to expire, so I said I really needed this fixed. I was told "don't worry Mr. Roberts, we have documentation that you've brought this in multiple times while under warranty". The next time I brought it back in (after the warranty expired), I was told that I had to pay for the service as the car wasn't under warranty anymore. I reminded them about the issue was a pre-existing problem reported well within the warranty window. It was then I learned that GM's policy is that if the warranty period is expired, it's totally irrelevant that it was reported during the warranty. They'll ONLY warranty parts that were replaced, and no parts were ever replaced because the techs couldn't find the problem. I had multiple screaming matches with GM at the highest levels I could reach, and they wouldn't budge. They admitted that I provided plenty of proof of the issue happening under warranty. They admitted that the two service centers were unsuccessful in addressing the issue. But in the end, they didn't give a shit. Their position was that I should have insisted that the technicians contact GM engineers to address the problem. That's something I know now, but had no clue it was my job to insist the GM trained techs talk to GM Engineers to resolve hard to diagnose issues. My advice is NEVER EVER...under any circumstances....walk out of a service center without a resolution if under warranty. Insist that if they can't find the problem, contact the engineers. In my case, I was absolutely fucked over by GM, but I wouldn't be surprised if other manufacturers had similar policies.

well first few years are guinea pig years so it's only normal to expect some issues big and small i'm sure you expected that already. hopefully by 2022 things are resolved as that's when i'll be in the market for my C8 and the C6 did take what 2 years before they upgraded the transmission to 6 speed instead of 4 speed so the 2007 onwards felt different from 2005-2006 models. i'm just glad the numbers gm claimed for the specs are actually happening in the real world testing the rest of the issues they can fix but if we didn't get their claimed times in the realworld like it was the case the first week that'd be a very big issue.

The DCT is a much a much different type of transmission that will have a much different feeling. Its a true manual that tries to predict what gear you plan on going to based on the speeds, acceleration, and other inputs. Sometimes it can pick the wrong choice either up or down and it takes a second to get it back in position to either down shift or upshift which is the clunkiness you feel.

New cars, especially all new cars are bound to have a long list of issues that the manufacture knows needs to be address while the cars are rolling off the assembly line. Recalls serve to address those issues as not to shut down and hault all production. warrantee's and Recalls also enables the manufacture to save a ton of money, because not all vehicle owners will bring their cars in for such recalls. Dealers love recalls because they are financially supplemented by the OEM to do such repairs. Regardless its completely foolish to think any car no matter the price tag or brand wont have any issues or related recalls. And its absolutely not a bad thing that ones car gets called in to remedy an issue. At least it shows that the manufacture is addressing the issues for free!.. so a recall serves to simply better your vehicles. In the case of a major issue, as in engine problem. well guess what WARANTEE.. should the engine fail. they will replace it, or replace the vehicle all together. This also isnt new.. when Ford introduced the modular 4.6 v8 in the mid 90's the cobra variant was having its rods blow. sucks for certain. BUT they simply fixed the issue. Takes time but in the end they needed to replace the standard rods with stronger heavier performance rods. Hey.. thats works to your favor. ALso.. lets be truthful about something. 99% of you guys get your all new car and proceed to do the dumbest things conceivable, like wringing the car out with a ton of burnouts and donuts pegging the revs , multiple hard launches and drag racing all before the car has truly had enough time to break in. Then people are sitting with a dumb look on their faces angry that their new car is having issues after beating the car to shreds. People somehow forget any and all performance cars will eventually break under stress. need we forget, these cars are now pushing incredible amounts of power and torque, and refined to such a degree to get as much efficiency out if it for meeting performance benchmarks. so theyre wound tight from the factory. So with all that said, issues are to be expected , especially for the 1st generation that runs off the assembly line. This is why many people choose to waitout the first batch or even the first year of production, because its ever so common that those first batch of cars will have issues and the next will see such issues remedied.

I put Michelin Pilot All season tires on which was the smartest move of all. I strongly recommend them over the stock tires as there is zero skipping and I believe I get better traction even though some disagree, but I do not think they have experienced the difference. I would never buy an expensive sports car without the manual experience even tho I may lose some time shifting if I were to race. Shifting attaches me to the vehicle and I love the feeling. I am having one issue on my C8 .My issue is the blind spot monitoring is not working ! When I start the engine is has the error code on cluster and it say that is blind spot temporary not working . I read the owners manual and it say to check that the sensors in the rear of bumper and to make sure they clean ..free from snow and dirt ..My car is band new with 200 miles super clean and it doesn't snow In Florida where I Live Lol
