I did the Museum Delivery on my 2014 & I WOULD do it again! The Museum did a Fantastic Job of making me feel like I was the VIP of the day! My name in lights, an exclusive Guide escorted me the entire time through the Plant as well as the Museum, etc, etc. I think if you haven't done this, you owe it to yourself, at least once!

I love your car and channel. You and i think alike, which is probably why I optioned my current C6 Vette with the exhaust and 2LT. I didn't need much else. If i when i go C8 in another year or two, i will more than likely option it just as you have suggested.

Brink! Nicely done video presenting your views on must haves. I was impressed that you did not push the Z51 or magnetic ride for those folks who will never track the car. Worth noting also that with Z51 you end up with summer only tires not the High Performance all season tires which are standard. You did not mention the HTC option as must have or not....but I do think the vert is a great way to go and roughly 40% of buyers to date agree. Again, nicely done!

Thanks for a different perspective on the C8. I'm 73 years old and don't need a lot of technical jargon. I would never track my car, thus do not need many options found on the Z51 package. I have a high number (343) deposit with a large dealer and most likely will not even be able to order a 2021 model but have plenty of time to gather information like you provided so an educated decision can be made. Great vid! I did get the 2020 Z51 --- but no MPC. You're one of the few people that doesn't fall all over themselves about magnetic ride. I didn't get it because the roads I drive on are good and I had read into it and just didn't feel I would need it. No regrets.

Hey BOS just an update I redid my order sheet for a 21, I’m no.4 on the list,so hopefully I’ll hv my C8by beginning of the new year, kept everything the same got mag ride and switched colors to Mist Red color matched engine cover. Excited again GM assured me that 2020 orders are the first deliveries for 21s!!! So again bro thanks for your help God Bless and hope to send you pics once it arrives!!! Keep up the great work.

First Mike I wanna say what a great great video on the information I think you’ve changed my mind from LT one to getting an LT two I think you’re right on about the Z 51 and mag ride I have a 2017 that doesn’t have the 51 but performance exhaust so I agree with the exhaust and I have mag ride which I really don’t feel that I need but it came on my car when I bought it off the lot and I totally agree with the engine cover in the brakes

I agree with everything you said here EXCEPT, for me a Must Have is the 3LT Dipped Natural interior with the upgraded floor mats, illuminated door sills, and chrome badging. I'm looking to build a Luxury Sport Touring version of the C8. Kind of like, if Cadillac had a mid-engine sports car. No intention to track it. Just want some fun on the old state highway or county roads with no one around rips to whatever speed I feel like at that moment and some spirited driving on the mountain road twisties.

As far as the engine cover, a local body shop did it for $450. I got mine the same color as the car (Elkhart Lake Blue).

Very good thoughts. I’ve ordered a 2022 which I’ll probably not see until next Summer. I will be making some changes when it’s time to actually enter the order. I quite agree about the Z51 package. If you do plan on seriously tracking your C8, then I believe the Z51 package is a MUST have option. Other than that it is not money well spent.

Hey Mike, I am an Italian car salesman living in California and I do like your way to explain everything. I feel your passion for cars.

I hope they will add camera and front lift as an option as standard for 1 LT. You can do better after market. Anyone can paint the brakes and engine cover for way less than $1000 Long Tube Headers only cost $1k but add more than 20bhp and save weight. You can get even more with Soul Performance Cats and exhaust and lose at least 20lbs in weight over the factory.

I have heard that Museum Delivery is slower than dealer delivery because the schedule is so full. Also, I felt sorry for Clarence having to drive his brand new car into the rain. With the local dealer, I would just go see my prepped car on the rainy day and then take delivery in the sunshine.

The HUD is godlike tho my mans is really in a mech if I had the money I’d flush out on the things I wanted too tho

2LT trim gives you all the nice to have tech you don’t get in a 1LT. Cross traffic, back up warning, all the cameras and the PDR/Navigation. And the GT1 seats become super seats, vented, cooled, heated, lumbar, and bolstered. The first cold day you get behind the steering wheel and the heated wheel is on make this a cozy car on a cold day!

RE: Museum delivery - I got it with my car. I will say this, it was more than worth it when the plant was open for tours. You and your guest got a special one-on-one tour of the plant, not in a big group tours. The Museum part is very fun as your private delivery host shows you around the Museum and into special non-public areas like storage of other cars, etc. Plus, your friends and family back home can watch you on the webcam!

I like all the thing you. Said of how to build a new. C8 corvette I try to build a new c 8 and I build it the same way I didn’t. Get the lift because. I have a c7 and ever I dive it there very few places that I your scrape my front end you are definitely right about the z51 package because there is know way I would track my c 8 hope that in the future I will be able to get a c8 corvette

How about the engine appearance package? Wouldn't the added lighting in the engine compartment show off the engine better?

i got the Z51 package on mine , resale value will go up and if i want to track them back roads i can lol and i agree with some like the rims, I want to put the Z06 rims on mine and get the high wing too

I don’t know how you can think of parting with the Captain. Honestly, the wrap is your Trademark. My 2022 C8 is to be built the week of February 7. I just wanted to review this video one more time. Watching that introduction video just made me think, That’s Mike, That’s Mike!!! You have to find a way to have the Captain and the ZO6.

I think I got a convert on the Z51 package. Brink! The front brakes only give a 1/2” more rotor sweep! The exhaust is only 5 HP and the spoiler is a real Drag! Hennessey’s 200 mph run to 202 mph was done with the spoiler removed. It couldn’t do it with the spoiler on!

Hey Mike, always enjoy your content as well as how well you articulate things you are making the vid about. But I have a Q: I am a fairly old guy, pretty beat up from years as USAF Firefighter & associated injuries, cancer survivor (so far), and a really bad lower back. With those in mind, I seem to be thinking of a C8 ‘Vert (easier in/out in good weather) with the most cushy seats, lumbar support a must have, and I really need the cushy-est (is that even a real word?) ride qual. Oh, and front lift is REQ’d on acct of my very steep driveway. Also, because of left leg issues, auto trans is req’d. Can you make rec’s for me for a new ‘21 or even a lo-miles ‘20 please Sir? Oh, and I live near Houston, TX, Tomball, to be specific, so roads are sorta a mix from smooth tollways to logging truck dirt road-like quality.

If dealers would stop charging over 100K for a C8, I might consider one, even with auto only. With a stick, that would be a very tough decision.

I agree completely on your options except the painted engine (I’d get the HTC) and painted brakes which (to me) just impress others ! Can I purchase stand-alone options of z51 front splitter and (more importantly) the z51 spoiler? Also , since I want this car mainly as a tourer , can I get lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control ???

I enjoy your C8 content vlog. Your, "...must have," with regard to painted calipers. In the Porsche, painted calipers are not a choice that is normally available. The colors signify something about the brakes and perhaps in some cases, special editions. White, Gray, Black, Red, Yellow and I think a couple of other colors are in the Porsche palate. The red-painted calipers usually signify and upgrade in braking. With some of the Corvettes, for example the Torch red body color really goes nicely with red brake calipers. With regard to the exhaust, the 1200.00 is well worth the money to get the electronics and the valving in the stock exhaust. With regard to Z51. I have no intent whatsoever of ever tracking my car, although it is possible that I might eventually track the car a couple of times. However, I do like the occasional zero to 60 challenge and GM states in one of its video that the lower ration and e-differential both aid in getting down the road quicker than with the non-Z51 car. Secondly, I've investigated the cost of aftermarket brakes and have installed some on cars such as Mustangs and Porsche. Certain break companies' set-ups can be rather expensive. Receiving the larger rotors on two or four wheels is almost worth the entire cost of the Z51 package. As with regard to magnetic ride control, that system is so superior to standard shock absorbers and even the standard Corvette shock absorbers (unlike a statement that one cannot tell the difference) that it is almost comparing apples ot oranges. The car "tracks" the road better with magnetic ride control when there are freeway grooves. Expansion joints are also handled with superiority when compared with the standard ride shock absorbers. Getting aftermarket shocks can be expensive to get good set ups. On top of that, there is now a track lowering suspension that works with the Z51 package that also has other features that makes the magna ride control, really, a no-brainer. I'm not crazy about the Z51 spoiler in any way. I'd got High Wing, or Z51 delete, especially if a little money can be saved by deleting the Z51 wing. This brings us to your wheel recommendation, which I wholeheartedly endorse! There are a couple of Tridents that look great on certain color C8's. Black Tridents look terrible on any color C8 and that is just a flat fact. After market black rims from several manufacturers look so much better in those rims on any color of Corvette that the only thing anyone should get is the stock rims and then use the money saved to buy custom rims. Stock sizes are fine. With compensation, it is even possible to go to twenty inch rims on the front of the C8 and by adjusting the side wall, it will not change the suspension characteristics at all. I actually adjusted to the rims that came on my car: Gray Spectra Machine Face Trident rims for my light gray C8. I actually now like them and will just keep them. However, I DIDWHEELS WHICH CAME WITH THE CAR. Museum delivery for a guy living in Ventura County, California. Back to the rims. the dealer gave me a really weir story with regard to what happened to my original wheels; what happened to my Z51 Spoiler; what happened to my carbon flash sills (they did give me the Z51 front splitter after installking the 5VM carbon fiber aero kit.). Thus, the Chevy dealer or BGAP kept three items which I paid for that were taken off for upgrades, but did not give me my original items which I also paid fror. There was no satisfactory explanation. On th eZ51 spoiler, they told me that all of those are destroyed when taken off to install a high wing spoiler. That, of course, as we've seen on KZfaq, is an out and out lie. With regard to the carbon flash pieces, I was told that I received them. I could never locate them. With regard to the wheels, the dealer said only if I got a much more expensive set of Tridents, was I entitled to the factory original wheels. I'm doubting the voracity of such a statement. It appears the GM?Chevy and/or Corvette are engaging in out and out theft with regard to the options and some of the pieces that are paid for that come with the car. AF

Please do a video on rear spoiler options. The factory options are not great. Would be nice to see what aftermarket options are available. Keep up the great work.

It’s amazing to me how many people buy the Z51 package and don’t even know why. I see 75 year old men driving one of these with the Z51 package. And with the 2020 cars you immediately had to buy another set of tires cause the summer tires that came with the Z51 package aren’t supposed to be used in cold (cool) weather. The 2lt package has a few desirable things like the backup camera, the side mirror warning system, but it’s really too expensive for what it is. An extra $7500 on a $60,000 car? Used to be you couldn’t get a rear spoiler without the Z51 package, but now you can order the high wing spoiler for a thousand. I like the high wing better, but it’s a matter of preference I guess. Museum delivery? $1000 to have someone make you feel special? Normally, I’d say no. But, I ordered mine from Kerbecks in New Jersey. Got it at sticker price. I live a couple hours from the museum in bowling green. I opted for the museum delivery cause it was cheaper than traveling to New Jersey and then driving it back to Kentucky. If they make me feel special, that’s gravy. And, they are installing my high wing spoiler.

You did not mention rear camera which is very useful on the 2LT Pkg. What about GT2 seat upgrade for better quality leather? I have a 2016 2LT convertible and thinking about ordering the C8 convertible.

He fails to tell you that 2lt package gives you fewer seat combination options than 3lt. Also, if you want the spoiler, you can only get it with the Z51 package. Even thought the spoiler is simply aesthetic for most, it really makes the car in my opinion. I do not "need" the Z51 or the 3lt, except for the fact that there are options you cannot get without paying for those packages. The 3lt also gives a much higher quality leather than the 2lt. These things should have been noted.

How do you get a spoiler without the Z-51? Are the high wing spoiler coming back as an option?

I want super cruise. Might have to wait till 2022 or 2023. Chevy said they were updating 22 models.

Any way you slice it 72k is a great price for a NEW mid engine performance car done very well. I would not spend an extra 30k trying to get a '20 however.

One important item 1LT to 2LT you didn't mention (but it was in the list at the beginning) Rearview mirror camera! The rearward visibility in a 1LT without the camera (or a 2Lt with the mirror camera off) is terrible, wouldn't you agree?

Seat warmers for your prostate , Lumbar support for weak back, wide view mirrors for bad eyesight, stay away from high performance Z51 option, get loud exhaust and paint stuff Red to get attention . Sounds like an old mans car. Just needs some sort of sticker on it .......

Your negative comments about the magnetic shocks are certainly in the minority. That said, I agree with you. My C6 rides just fine with the factory shocks, and I expect the C8 will be fine, as well.

I'm 5'9 and weigh 180lbs, so not big. I just got back from sitting in both GT1 and GT2 seats. The GT2 felt a little more comfortable, but I wonder if it was my imagination. I thought the sides were a little tighter. Since I got to sit in a 3LT for the first time I think I really like the 3LT over the 2LT, since all the leather is smooth. I just don't want to sacrifice any comfort I might be giving up in the 1LT seats. Do you think I'll be fine with the GT2 if I get the 3LT? There are some saying the GT1 are much more comfortable than the GT1. Thanks!

I wanted to get the Z51 package for my new 2022 C8 till I found out that Chevrolet ONLY supplies the Z51 with summer tires and no option at all to get the all-season tires. This was a huge mistake and a deal breaker for me as I live in a state where we get rain and a lot of snow and having all-season tires is a must. I do not want to go thru the extra expense and hassle to buy extra new all-season tires plus new wheels. So now I am leaning on getting the following: 2LT with the GT2 seat upgrade plus the 2-tone seat option as I do like how it looks MSRC, Magnetic Selective Ride Control Front Lift Have not decided if I want to get NPP, Performance Exhaust, contemplating if just the throatier exhaust sound is worth $1,195. If you have good suggestions please share it here, thanks.

The base car (w/o mag ride) already has an almost luxury ride so it is hard to imagine mag ride would make any real improvement and I don't think most people need the front lift, especially on the base car without front lip spoiler. I have had 6 Corvettes and never damaged front beyond some scrapes on bottom which no one can see. Trident Gray wheels look great. You don't have to buy two sets of wheels. One option I think is worth the money is in the LT3 you can get two tone seats for $395. I have natural two tone (black centers/natural bolsters and they really up the visual impact. My 3LT, Blade Silver, Natural/Black interior, Performance Exhaust, Trident wheels, and battery minder was $75,680. Don't see why anybody not tracking car would spend more.

So, is engine too loud in the cabin with burning smell or smoke from engine or not? Is it scary?

At present gm has shut down all c8 builds. They say it is not because of the chip shortages ( virtually none) but they don't explain why. Supposed to be a temporary s/d. But who knows? The new c8 corvettes have been a production problem since day one.
