X-Men First Class. Lots of you have already seen this win video, but the original was blocked. So I edited a bunch of stuff to hopefully keep the studio happy. Wanted to have the entire trilogy viewable for you. Still love the movie. That is all.

I had a moment like that one time. I was getting a blood test, forget why, and the nurse missed my vein. Instead of removing it and trying again, she wiggled it in my arm. I went into shock and had a panic attack. When it was happening, my mom asked (once) how much it hurt, and I just repeated 400 or 4000 (forget which) over and over for half an hour afterwards

Have to add this about the beer-drinking scene as a german native speaker: It's rare that you find someone speak german in a US movie and it is actually grammatically accurate, contains no weird phrasing due word-for-word mistranslations from english or doesn't sound completely ridiculous because it's an american trying to sound german. And yet Fassbender completely nailed it. I seem to remember he's a native speaker as well, but its a rare occurence nonetheless. Plus: at least one of the guys drinking with him is definitely a german actor, might be both of them. They didn't have to cast actual germans for the german speaking parts, but they did. And as far as I can tell from my limited knowledge of French, Fassbender performs equally well in that language. Heck, that they used the respective languages at all and subtitled them, instead of having english dialogue with a funny accent is remarkable. Definitely multiple wins right there.

I am with John Smith - I love both channels... Both are diametric opposites much like X-Men: First Class and its story of Magneto and Professor X... Every Movie can be sinned, and its fun to nitpick them... But its also Great to look at what makes a movie so great too... And Cinema Wins has done Gods Of Egypt!!! A film that many say is quite Mediocre - I have not seen it and honestly, Have no interest in seeing it ... But its great to see a channel that at least TRIES to find some good in a film that has pretty much been panned! I have a feeling that we will see Everything Great About Ghostbusters (2016) soon enough - But if you cannot wait, Check Out Nostalgia Critics Review... While he does indeed still prefer the original... His review is actually very fair as he takes off the Nostalgia Goggles we all have and examines areas we fans all assume the original is far better - And the fact that actually, We are WRONG! Ask most fans like myself about teh original and we talk about how exciting and action packed it was... But actually the truth is, it wasn't... It was more character driven, A lot of talking and plot development... The 2016 Reboot loses out here obviously as the characters are really bland... BUT it has far more action... Seriously! Check his review out... Its worth a watch!!! As for the Sexism stuff... I still think that was a 4-Chan Prank that Sony Jumped on as a Marketing tool - AND BOY DID IT BACKFIRE!!!! (Point of note - Nope, I have not seen teh 2016 Reboot yet... But my son has, He prefers the original but says it is actually a Good movie. Not epic but worth a watch at least. I trust his judgement as he has never steered me wrong yet! But I am ANNOYED that Sony DELIBERATELY Cut some scenes so they could capitalise on DVD Sales... OH YES! THERE IS A GHOSTBUSTERS DIRECTORS CUT ALREADY!!!)

both are good but I'll wholeheartedly agree for one big reason in my books. CinemaWins gave an excellent review on the warcraft movie. They understood the lore behind it and how even though the sub plots were messed up, the main plot was right there. They played the 3 warcraft games so understood the lore behind them and not thought the movie as world of warcraft but did understand the Easter eggs that were in it. So a big win for CinemaWins on that one.

I personally see Charles as bisexual anyway due to his telepathy and to a certain extent Eric too, although he doesn't really have that many close romantic attachments. I mean there's Raven, whom he explicitly refuses to sleep with in this film, and then looks way too old in comparison for it not to be creepy in films after the time skip, and that Magda girl from the comics, who I only know about because of fanfiction. Non-cannon shipping is the most fun I've had since actually watching these movies. But I guess whatever, if that's not your cup of tea, then you do you. I know this was probably just a racist excuse by Matthew Vaughn to kill him off, but this might not be the same Darwin from the comics, this probably is just a younger, way weaker version that Matt was going for, cause in the comics, Darwin is near immortal, even by Hela's death touch. That probably isn't this version of Darwin, who knows? Either way, Havok's blasts sound more powerful than Thor's hammer in this movie, to kill poor Darwin like that XD

@@masterpenguin8472 "Iron Man 3", "Thor Ragnarok" and "Age of Ultron" were crap to be honest, I can buy the ides that the others might be good but these three are just shit. Ultron was a really scary villain in the comics and in "Avengers: Age of Ultron", he was portrayed as a lame villain, the movie didn't do justice to the original Ultron that was created by Hank Pym and outsmarted its creator to become something far more threatening than any other artificial intelligence (well, the Sentinels and the Phalanx are really scary too). "Iron Man 3" didn't have a good villain, that Mandarin was shameful as hell and almost everyone agrees that the Mandarin could have been a lot more interesting than just a lame and boring villain. "Thor Ragnarok" was full of comedy and the only good thing it offered was Hela as the main villain, a villain that I wish we could have seen more often, she had potential to be a better villain than Loki (who, in my opinion, is too overrated and basically, thanks to him, many other villains in the MCU couldn't have a more important role, Hela is one of the good villains we didn't get the chance to appreciate long enough because of Loki). "Captain America: Civil War" wasn't that good if you compare the magnitude of the first Civil War to the story we were shown in the movie from 2016. The original Civil War from the comics was supposed to include every single superhero in the Marvel Universe and while I get that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four wwre not part of the MCU by 2016, the MCU had many other Avengers that could have played a huge role, not to mention that the fights were lame as hell.

This is the best X men movie IMO, in fact I'd say this was the best comic book movie before Civil War. This movie is so good it's a shame what happened with the two next movies. While DOFP is great on it's own right I'll always feel sad how a great movie ruined what could've been an even greater series. If you watch the original DVDs commentaries from the directors, First class was supposed to be it's own thing until they merged the timelines for DOFP, a cool idea for sure but it also totally ruined the world First Class had constructed. Alas, we'll always have this film to enjoy even though a direct continuation would've been much much better than what we got later.

CinemaWins = Charles; CinemaSins = Erik. Something's always niggled at me about that part where Erik sends the coin through Shaw's head. It doesn't look like it's in slow motion, right? So the coin slowly burrows through his skull? I don't doubt Erik has the force to do that, but there's nothing physically holding Shaw in place (just Charles's telepathy keeping him from moving). Try pushing a coin through a watermelon that's not secured in place and what happens? The watermelon rolls away. I can't watch that part without imagining Shaw's head is made of pudding! Maybe it has something to do with his energy absorbing powers? I'unno!
@nicholascross3557
@nicholascross3557 5 жыл бұрын
Look at it this way, Magneto has come a long way in developing his powers with Charles help at that point, can haul the sub onto the beach, turn hurdereds of shells and missiles back in their tracks, so the idea that Eric is holding Shaw in place with the iron in his blood and calcium in his bones (yes, calcium is a metal) while Charles is just shutting down Shaw's mind so he can't just absorb the energy of the impact, isn't beyond reason. As to why the coin is going so slowly... well, Shaw Killed Erics mother as casually as ordering a coffee, so to him, there is NO degree of suffering Shaw could experience that would compensate for that. If he could have caused him to burn in agony for ten thousand years it wouldn't have sufficed. Unrealisic? Perhaps... but look at Civil War, one of the defining lines is "I don't care, he killed my mom!" So Eric Lencher wanting Shaw to die in agony, to see it coming and not to be able to stop it.... yeah, he'll do that. I actually think he kept it as short as he did to spare Charles, at least a bit. Indeed it is, to me, at least, a shame that the Princess Bride wasn't out when this fim was set, since it robbed them of the chance to do "Hello, my name is Eric Lencher, you killed my mother, prepare to die!" Because a Princess Bride reference is _always_ a win!

I know I’m way late, but I thought the reason the coin went so slow was because Shaw’s power was to absorb energy, and the more movement the more energy. I just thought it was magneto bypassing Shaw’s power, but that’s my take. Also I don’t think Eric ever had the ability to control metal in someone’s blood, it was never mentioned nor shown. I think it’s just Charles holding him in place.

EasilyBeatable Born a slave to a mother that loves him more than her own life, on a desolate planet where he will most likely die in the same place he's been since his mother decided to settle there. He had nothing other than her. Then comes these mythological figures that are guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy and he's given a way out. He's given an avenue to become one of them because a Master sees what his true potential is. All he has to do is leave her behind. Leave behind the woman who has scraped and scrapped for anything and everything to give to him. The last step between leaving the nearly inhospitable planet that he hates is that he needs to abandon the one thing in the universe he truly loves. And one of the last things Shmi says to him? Don't look back... Doubted from the very beginning of his training, taken on begrudgingly by a young knight who is only doing so to fulfill a promise to his former master, Anakin wrestles with his identity as a slave and rises to become one of the most formidable young padawans the Jedi Order has ever seen. He fights, and fights, and fights, and wins, and wins, and wins, at almost every challenge thrown his way but his undying love for people who love him is what holds him back from completely letting go and becoming the Jedi that people want him to be. He loves. He loves to the point of obsession. The only person he loves more than his own mother is Padmé and he is bombarded by visions of her death, similar to his Shmi's. Anakin saw his mother die in his dreams, and relived that horror in person. All of this despite him traveling across the galaxy to attempt to save her. He would rather sacrifice everything he has ever achieved than see the woman he loves suffer the same fate. Yet the actions he takes to prevent this lead to his wife and unborn child dying at his own hand. For nearly twenty years he kills old friends as he hunts down the remaining Jedi, until he senses Ben. Ever have a friend that you would die for? Right now, who was/is/will be your best man at your wedding? Who is the godfather of your children? Who is your ultimate confidant that you would trust with anything? Now imagine the betrayal you feel, when you realize they aren't going with you on this journey that you think is your right path. Not only won't go with you, but will do what they must to kill you and prevent these events from unfolding. Now you see them. To you, they are the reason you are encumbered in this metal prison. Anakin strikes out with the intent that this will finally be the end of his past. The last man who might remember who he was before his immolation will now be dead. But while defending the station that is the culmination of his new empire he sense a presence, and the search of the source will consume him for years until he discovers the truth. Anakin Skywalker, the hero of the Republic, the secret beloved husband of Queen Padmé Amidala, is a father. He has a son. He has a son who is a Jedi, who is the hero of the Rebellion. He embodies everything Anakin hates about his past self. And he now struggles with his own identity. Is he loyal to his emperor who still has much to teach him about power and the force, which is all he has now? Or does he invest in his son, which is his last connection to the woman he loved more than his mother? Everything. Everything, he has tried to saved as turned to ash in his hands. Maybe just this once... Anakin's love for his mother lead him down the path to the dark side. His love for his wife and unborn children was the cause for him to betray the order that raised him from a slave to a revered Knight and General. His love for his son, and his newly discovered daughter, is the catalyst for Vader to remember Anakin. He fulfills his destiny and destroys the master, at the cost of his own life. He's tragic. He is the victim, villain, and hero of this story. Despite some directional and writing choices taking during the prequels, any competent edit of them shows the deep and character developing story that is there.

I think the scene with Hank and Raven and taking the serum is one of my favourite as it shows how both these characters could of been like the other is circumstances were different. They both are (ignoring Angel as she turns to the other side and maybe Darwin as he dies and his default state is looking like a normal human and its only when his powers activate that you realise he is a mutant) the only mutants with "physical" mutants that hard hard to hide and need more physical means to do so (either using the powers or hiding them in shoes). They both are really self conscious about how they look and both want to fit in. And potentially had childhoods that would have made them have this attitude (Raven being forced to hide her blue skin with Charles discouraging there use and the potential attractiveness in her blue form and whilst its not as obvious, being a genius, and basically being forced to grow up early due to being surrounded by adults in his learning institution instead of kids his own age whilst having to hide his own mutation would have made him an outcast with very little support himself, maybe even no support as we dont know how his universes Hank's parents treated him. This most likely would have developed a desire to fit in as he really is an outcast and lonely ). But both characters are treated differently in the long run. Raven gains confidence as people start to compliment her. When she shows off her powers to the rest of the group for the first time, they react positively with shock and awe. Even whilst trying to change it, Hank compliments her mutation, even a scientifically way, which could make it more significant as thats really the only way he knows how to interact. And Erik constantly calls her and her mutation amazing and beautiful and makes no mistake that he finds her true form attractive. He, and the more or less instant acceptance, she finds with in the mutants makes it so there is no surprise she rejects the serum and ultimately has no love for normal humans who have always rejected her. On the other side, Hank is rarely complimented, and even then only Charles reinforces it. Hank is ridiculed by the group by the group, who follow the more popular Alex, and even though Raven defends him, she doesn't encourage him to show off like she does the others. Whilst that maybe because she knows it makes him uncomfortable, it still is a bit of a negative reinforcement as she doesn't even ask him and could be taken as she prefers him to stay more hidden. Throughout the training montage, the other characters are shown not to trust him due to one or two failures, which is to be accepted as he has never had to design things like them before. When he trains with his physical mutation, only Charlies encourages him, saying it is magnificent, but Alex showed that he wasn't accepted by insulting him (ON HIS LOOKS AND MUTATION ) showing that he is still an outcast. And Raven, whilst flirting and was attracted to him, still encouraged him to make the serum to cure both of them right up to the last moment, reinforcing the idea that he should be normal to get the girl. So its no surprise he takes it. They are mirrors of each other and shows how people treat you and their perceptions of you can influence you, just like how Charles and Erik are mirrors that show how your past and upbringing can influence you. The background arc of Raven and Hanks love story is a great side story that i think people overlook due to the main one

Also, he is the greatest Supervillian of all time, because his Power is not Persuasion. He can manipulate metal, and yes with that he can use our own technology against us, but his nemesis is with someone who can read minds, and ultimately control, or kill everyone on Earth with his Mind. Okay, he also has the technical knowhow to shield himself from this, but ultimately he is the Leader of the Mutants, the Mutant Race, not the splinter organization that tries to reconcile the race-war with the humans, but ultimately Emperor of Genosha, but not because he's the most Powerful mutant. He doesn't have the power to bend people's minds to his will, but he does it, anyway. Not with his mutant ability, but with his Charisma, Determination, and actually being Right. On the right side of Evolution, the wrong end of Attempted Genocide, and the logical argument that Humans can peacefully coexist with people they rightly fear as being more powerful? No, it's us vs them, and it will always be us vs them, until one of us is extinct. Most likely the ones that can't shoot kinetic energy from our eyes, control the weather, or fly buildings around. All Charles has to wave his hand and say "These aren't the droids you're looking for." The comics especially stress that he doesn't use his power to the fullest because that would make him a Tyrant. Magneto is a Tyrant. A despot, and genocidal maniac, but he doesn't even have that power. He doesn't need it. (It doesn't hurt that Humans keep coming after him with metal, and electronics based technologies. Basically what we have instead of telepathy is the internet, and instead of maglev, we have airplanes. Magneto is the natural opposite, not of X, but of US.)

Mostly I was REALLY happy to see McAvoy and Hoult in a movie together. I was watching one in "Shameless" on BBC and the other in "Skins" where he was amazing. Then we got Frankenstein so we could see McAvoy and Radcliffe, and my life is complete! At least until I see some new up and coming yummy actors... And I agree, Fassbender as Bond would be outstanding!

I agree! We need to understand that directors and actors and all the crew of movies put so much effort into them, and people are criticizing them for the least of reasons. I'm not saying there's no difference between good and bad movies, but helping others see the good in movies is so much more helpful than seeing the bad.

both are great. it's fun to point out a movie's flaws (even if it's mostly nitpicks) but it's also good to find the positive things in movies (even the bad ones.)

you just don't get what cinemasins is about if you realy think they are just hating on movies^^ it'S sarcasm, they love movies and they say it all the time, BUT movies have flaws and some more then other, even realy good movies have flaws, thats why the sins don't have any worth and if you look at cinemasins, whenever they bring up their own sins it say infinity. not to say they are not assholes, but thats the whole point of it ;)

Saying WTF speak English is a tad rude, although yes Cheesycurve should be speaking English, he (Or she, but im gonna call it a he for simplicity) considering he replied to an English comment you basically just said somebody speaking another language is worth going WTF, which it simply isn't. i mean no offence, im am simply telling you so that you dont get some internet rageboy mad.

As someone who never saw the trailers for this movie (I didn't start seeing the trailers for the prequels/alternate timeline until Days of Future Past), I very much disagree that the line "Peace was never an option" has lost it's punch. It's one of my favorite line's in this movie. Also, I think I finally get what you mean about how the film felt. It's a story about the people, not the mutants. Look at it like this, in the original movies, while real names (Charles (mostly by Erik), Logan, Erik (mostly or exclusively by Charles), Raven, Jean, Scott, etc.) are used, the characters we see are Professor X, Storm, Wolverine, Magneto, Mystique, Cyclops, etc. We don't really SEE the people behind the heroes and villains. In this movie, it's not Professor X and Magneto, it's Charles and Erik. By the end, we see a hint of Professor X and we see Magneto in all his glory, but for most of the movie, we aren't seeing them, we're seeing Charles and Erik. It's really nice and is probably why this is most X-Men fans favorite movie; it gave us MORE to the characters. Backstory, personality prior to being Professor X and Magneto, real connections with each other and others.

The reason Magneto slowly pushes the coin through Shaw's head is so Shaw isn't able to absorb the kinetic power, as there's very little there to absorb. Had he launched the coin through the head it would probably have been deflected as the grenade shrapnel was when it exploded in Shaw's hands. I always loved that the movie didn't feel the need to explain it.

the one thing that will always break me is that erik willingly (by extension) caused charles extreme pain when he killed shaw. a coin through your skull? sounds painful. and it's even sadder because without charles to freeze shaw and suffer, erik would've been in danger or even possibly killed. charles in here was probably the person erik cared for the most, so seeing him willingly putting charles into the physical (and mental) pain was crazy. part of me can't even believe he would do it. unless in his obsession with killing shaw, that little fact somehow passed his mind? or was he really just ready to subject charles to that? because him in total concern and panic seeing charles in pain after being hit by a bullet was such a contrast.

12:30 The left soldier's reaction gets me, don't know if it was intentional or not, but it humanizes him a little and plays into the 'men just following orders' motif.

Dude, you're doing wonderful things for hollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole. In a culture that applauds how much you can hate something, you remind us that it okay (and even good!) to see the good in something and even love it when other people are telling you it's not good enough. Keep up what you're doing, man.

6:45 THAT would make the creepy flirting mystique does with magneto in X2 less creepy tbh 9:35 what do you MEAN NON-ROMANTIC?! I feel like these movies can't deny (or even try to mask) that there was something between those two all along. Seriously, not a yaoi shipper, just facing the facts that these two get very emotionally intimate with one another very quickly in this movie, and that just screams there might be something more....that will probably never be explored further than just the tension both these actors create when in character.

Who says that Charles & Eric's love story is "non-romantic"? I always took the beach scene as Magneto declaring his love for Charles & Charles choosing to be "Normal" again by saying he doesn't want what Eric wants... it's a total lie & utter truth. He WANTS Eric but he doesn't WANT to want him & prefers the "confirmed bachelor" status in Academia, a more polite way of saying "still in the closet". I've always wondered if Magnito & Mystique's relationship worked because they were both in love with Charles.
