Something I _seriously_ love about this movie is how Sadness leads the mom's mind and Anger leads the dad's mind, subtly hinting at how the dad could have anger issues and the mom could be prone to depression. Imagine making such a subtle detail mean such a major message.

With Riley not being able to be sad either, that’s definitely an important plot device used by the writers. She’s completely numb, and that’s why it’s authentic to people struggling with their mental health as you don’t have the emotional release of sadness but you don’t know when you can ever be happy again. Not worth a sin

This movie really highlits the sheer important of both being happy but also experiencing the exact opposite. Feeling sadness is a critical part of the human experience and it should be acknowledged. I am really telling you, at least in my opinion, this is easily the most spectacular message that can possibly be given by Pixar and I love them. And though obviously people might not be exited for the second movie but I know I am excited to bug my parents to go see it in theaters. Man I just love this movie.

Why fear would have a say in what a room looks like: Place all chairs or other sit spaces with their back to the wall so that no one can sneak up on you from behind, and put the bed as far from the door as humanly possible. (I am paranoid due to childhood trauma, don't mind me)

There's this post on Tumblr that came out when the movie did addressing Pixar's movies as whole. It said "Pixar Movie Plots: What if Toys had feelings? (Toy Story) What if Cars had feelings? [and so on until] What if feelings had feelings?" I don't know, I thought it was funny and it makes me think, now that all of these inanimate objects or just things other than humans can show complex emotions according to Pixar, do they need to make an Inside Out with emotions for the toys from Toy Story or cars from Cars?? O.o

Joy is our goal, the purpose of existence. But we need sorrow to contrast with it for our comprehension, and so we can empathize with others. Disgust is really our tastes and sense of style. Fear keeps us safe, but don't let it rule your life. Anger turned inward is sorrow.

With respect to the sin given to “what would happen if they moved back? Would joy and sadness be magically sucked back into headquarters?” Yes, or something of the like. The actions of the emotions are clearly being driven by external forces. Riley and her circumstances are controlling the actions of the emotions, not the other way around. The emotions characters are just anthropomorphic versions of those stupid islands. The whole plot serves as a metaphor.

joy koong But that's usually because hindsight is 20/20. When an easy way out is presented very clearly, it's officially not okay. To remove the plothole, all they have to do is just not mention that the memories go to HQ. One less bubble gum ad joke = one less plot-destroying moment.

And tell me how many times have you done something totally drawn out and unnecessary when there was an easier way that you just didn't realize at the time? It's a movie about emotions. These concepts that they put in front of us are supposed to be relatable. You don't always think of the perfect solution to a problem when you're under stress. Quite nit picking and trying to mess up and perfectly decent movie.

7:04 I think Riley’s “train of thought” getting derailed is a representation of how, after this point, she doesn’t really think through any of her decisions logically, like how she really doesn’t think through her idea of running away back to Minnesota.
@meganbarhorst5272
@meganbarhorst5272 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say the emotions are just that - the emotions. They don't actually control Riley's actions, just her feelings. So when they're playing hockey, it's not video game control of her body, but rather feeding her emotions in response to each moment of the game - surge of joy when doing well, sadness if someone scores against her team, anger to get a burst of motivation at a critical moment, fear when about to crash into something to hopefully keep her from injuring herself. But Riley translates those emotions (and sometimes ideas) into actual actions. Anger even says, after putting in the lightbulb, that Riley decided to accept the idea - anger made her think of it, but she could've still not done it, she just (both literally and metaphorically) didn't have the emotional tools to handle the situation better

+TheDerpMan.exe watch the short, "Riley's First Date?". They go into more detail of how the boy's emotions function. After seeing that, just imagine all of the emotions with traits characteristically associated with a sociopath.

Well, I don't know how this works, actually. With my experiences of being- uh, I mean, knowing a sociopath, honesty and empathy is non-existent. Self-loathing is non-existent also. Figure that as you will.

+TheDerpMan.exe all of his (or her) emotions would be some sort of anger. Also their control panel would be broken. that would be funny.

Clokworx Not really anger. Picture the emotions to be emo, since sociopaths are usually asocial/antisocial.

Fun fact: On the 12/2/2019 SinCast, Jeremy says his laughter from the “GIRL, GIRL, GIRL” line is 100% genuine from watching this to sin it the first time, and took out his microphone to get that genuine laughter recorded.

I think the reason behind why Bing Bong disappeared so fast was because he was already a forgotten thing. He had nothing to do with Riley’s life anymore. He was just forgotten. So when he fell down there,since he was already pretty forgotten he faded away faster. And since joy has been a thing with Riley for so long it would have taken a long time for her to start fading away to.
