Every summer, Mornington Shire runs a weekly recycling collection across the peninsula. During the 2018/19 summer period, Solo had a shortage of trucks to run the weekly Recycling service. To keep up with demand, a lot of trucks were brought down from interstate to give Solo a big chop out on their truck shortage. That particular summer would have had to have been the best time to be scouting around the peninsula, getting all the older trucks on video. I was down there every week for a good month getting all the action. On this Friday morning, I was tipped off that this would be out there and I wasn't going to miss this opportunity. Out of the lot, there were two 2007 Acco JR Richards trucks, which were Ex Bathurst Recycling.
#0635 was the better truck out of the two 35m3 units that came down and was used more than the other. After their short stint down in Victoria, they were sent back up to NSW. I was excited to film another one of these old Richards side arms paired up to a beefy 2007 Acco. These trucks have been pretty much wiped out in the suburbs and are a rarity to see, bar the few that are still getting around in the bush contracts. The driver behind the wheel absolutely loved the truck and did say it always packed a mean load of recycling. The video speaks for itself. I can't fault this truck one bit and it would definitely go down as one of the best trucks I have videoed so far in my time. Just cruising around in it made my day and hearing that ISC05 purring along was amazing. It was also a really good opportunity to get up close to a JJ Richards-type truck and see how they set their stuff up compared to your standard Solo truck.
Hope you all love the video and big thanks goes to the legend of an operator who's steering this weapon. Enjoy!!! ;) ;) ;)
