A brief tutorial on how to measure resistance of common items using the digital multimeter (DMM) or any type of multimeter. Resistance measurements are always made across a component or circuit. Make sure that the power is turned off before making any resistance measurement to prevent damage to the DMM and possible cause personal injury. Some of the items tested in this video will be a ballast resistor, transformers, light bulbs, speaker, and a relay. This tutorial is well suited for the electronic / electrical technician, technologist, engineer, trades person, or home hobbyist that has no experience with a DMM.
