I'd love to give these guys love for the work.. but you can see when he wipes it with a rag(and bangs it on a metal table) it's got dents in it that'll make the seals fail If you're into repacking cylinders it's fine I guess, the seals are mostly cheap

Charcoal is the right method, but it needs to be inside the coals and red hot. Not up in the flames. The metal will cool down quick because the air is acting as a HEAT SINK. If you don't believe that go do your research.

I feel this chrome bar has now been severley compromised. Given its extreme operating requirements and pressures involved. The next issue will most probably be with seals blowing due to imperfections in the chrome surface.

Too all who are craping on their work some times this kind of work is all anyone can do for the moment I've been using a cylinder on my tractor loader that I had to straighten out with a bottle jack and a large tie down strap for six months until I can get a new one I'd say that with their circumstances they have done a great job with what they have and probably put that cylinder back in use for a short time until it can be replaced

Would not even think about trusting that job they did. No heat treatment afterward, that rod is soft as butter.

Da , există și indreptarea oțelurilor. În acest caz trebuie ținut cont , că această bară cifată trece prin niște garnituri hidraulice. Adică trebuie o îndreptare ( deformare plastico- mecanică ) bine controlată. Succes! 👍

Ey ich find es gut wie es mit dem Umweltschutz bei uns läuft, aber bis auf paar ausnahmen läuft es überall schlecht. Find ich Traurig. Aber wenn die Menschen keine Ahnung haben und auch keine Mittel dann leidet halt die Umwelt. Gibt aber auch Länder wie USA z.B. die Ahnung und Mittel haben aber darauf scheissen...

Este barra es muy dura ,normal despues de este operacion necesita una operacion de quitar 1mm/ diametro i luego una operacion de cubierto con cromio duro electrolitico 2mm/ diametro i despues una operacion de rectificar en maquina con piedra abrasiva a su diametro inicial.Asi se hace .

They don't seem to realize that they have to bend it a bit the other way, not just against a flat surface, in order to undo the bending. Also it should be heat-treated for more hardness after all the massaging.

3:14 he put a shim under one side to allow bending past strait for spring back. I agree though, unfortunately that thing is weak where its been bent regardless of how strait they got it.

You can use Acetylene Torch to heat that Rod. It's easy and fast.

The job done is good but not reliable. What about the dent marks which occurred while removing the bend, the crome plating and the hardness. If this all is to be taken care, then you are only saving on the raw material.

If its stupid and it works it aint stupid. So what if it only lasts a week. Thats a week the machine ran versus being useless with a bent ram. A new cylinder in the current supply chain might be 3 months out.

Quédate tranquilo qué es un hidráulico cuando se empezó a mover pierde por los cueros todos los ejes hidráulico tienen cromo duró habría que a ver desplazado enderezado rectificado vuelto a cromar y rectificado otra vez por eso es mejor hacer uno nuevo saludos.

Well they didn't straighten it 100% ( approximately 90% ) then that rod need to go to lathe to get it back to center, and last most important is heat treatment to harden it again. Nice jobe but pointless, it will bend again but now faster ....

Это называется рихтовка. Современных станков такого типа нет. Старые станки для таких дел незаменимы.

Его изначально нужно выбросить, но после такого дебильного способа, это уже просто железная прямая палка. Я надеюсь, что они ее просто выпрямили, для того чтобы у них была прямая стальная дубина, которую можно как засов у ворот использовать.

You always need to overbend it to straighten it again. Fair play to them for what they're at but unfortunately it won't last 😕. It has been weakened there and will go again. Its seldom worth the effort.
