You can actually see on Jon's face when he sits in the car at the end of the green death that he had probably decided in that moment that he was going to leave.

God the ending for the Green Death is still one of the saddest moments in the show for me.

A shame Roger Delgado died sadly in a motorcar, accident and we never got the big final showdown planned for season 11.

I understand respecting Delgado's memory, but I never understood why they didn't recast the Master and simply say he'd regenerated?

that makes sense wat Jon sense because jon was leaving as well as Roger delgado because there was a story called The Final Game a parody of The Final End Sherlock Holmes.

I can relate to Jon Pertwee, as more and more of my old friends left my old college. So it seemed the end of an era for me the last two years when I attended there. Just like him when his Unit Team were being used in the show less and less. Which is why he wanted to leave Doctor Who despite him loving being it, just like I wanted to leave my old college in the end despite me loving attending there too.

Considering the absurd sums "actors" make today, most of whom do nothing more than sit on a couch and talk for a few minutes per week. Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and the like were grossly underpaid.

@TimelordTVRevolution I met him and his wife in a hotel elevator at a Doctor Who convention. They were a very pleasant and approachable couple. All the Doctor Who people seem affable and considerate.

No. The voiceover sounds a little bit like Glen Allen, who used to do e very knowledgable continuity for Who on UK Gold.

It was the right time for jon preetwee's departure 1974 im glad he did not do onther season. Tom baker was better suited for the new stories.
