I wanted to make a classic dresser stripped back to just the bare essentials. this is what i came up with, made from Walnut and NZ Rimu .

Just came back to this video and it is a favorite of mine. Love everything about this project! The concept, the experimental, character of the build, the build-as-you-go approach, the feel of being in a real, professional workshop, the use of materials already at hand, the way you take us all along in the process. Enjoyed the ride👍

Bit late to the show but this was a great video. I really like the design which has a bit of the timeless midcentury feel to it yet modern and it was very enjoyable to watch with what seemed much of a "design as you go" approach.

I'd love to see another one of these where each drawer comes out of a different face. Or a drawer can slide out front/back with a hinged lid on each side. I'd make it myself, but I feel off taking someone else's design when it's this unique! Great work and really appreciate the video walk through.

I like the design and your execution is, as always, flawless. I also appreciate that you leave in your mistakes and show how you overcome them. I would be interested in seeing a follow-up video that covers how well those drawer rails perform as the temperature and humidity change. I've done drawers similar to those, and while I like the simple approach, they can be frustrating when the wood moves... then again, I live in Virginia, in the US, so humidity is a fact of life, much like a rusty table saw bed.

Nice! Now I'm wondering whether there's a way to include wooden full extension drawer slides, John Heisz style, so that there's less strain when the drawers are open. It's extra tricky because of the way you can lift a drawer out of one end and put it back in the other.
