Lippincott's Gazetteer of the World - 1902 Cold Spring, a township of Lebanon co., Pa. Pop. 80. Cold Spring Station is on the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Railroad, a branch of the Reading Company. 26 miles N.E. of Harrisburg.

Another great and informative historical treat! The history there is full of goodies....there was also a mill west of magnesia springs about a mile, along the edge of what is now part of the beaver pool....the red trail blazes take you very near it. The red blazes eventually bring you onto the rail trail outside of yellow springs about 2 miles. Thanks again for the video history walk through wonderful St. Anthony's Wilderness!!

Another good vid. I have been back there a few times and even found an old, perfect H.Clay Clover " Imperial Mange Medicine" bottle in the leaf litter under one of those old pine trees near where the R.R. station once stood.

I have been to Cold Spring two times, but did not do any prior research on the area. You have inspired me to do some research similar to what you did and then I will go back. It will be more meaningful after doing that. Thanks for all of your great videos, I truly enjoy each one of them.

Would be a wonderful spot to use a metal detector and try to save some history. Of course I'd be looking really hard for one of those mineral water bottles. Enjoy your explorations. Thanks, Steve

People, aka tax payers, hunt, fish, swim & hike in that area. If an ambulance, police or fire & rescue have to travel to remote places where people go, they can’t just fly over stuff. Not everything is a gummint conspiracy.

I saw the biggest timber rattler ever on the foundation for the old hotel. Actually fell and landed about 2 feet away from it all coiled up and chillin. Only fell because friend I was with saw it, started running but didn't say why. I thought everything from a bear to a crazed axe wielding homicidal maniac. As I turned to run is when I saw the huge snake and ended up laying about 2 feet away from it, pushing myself away. Didn't strike, didn't make a sound. Once I got to my feet is when I messed with it and made it mad and realized what it was. After that I left it go on it's merry way. Thing was round as my forearm, beautiful snake though.

You were lucky. But just what was you going to do with it.? My dad knew every kind of snake there is. Poison and none. He had his hogs in the woods, turned over a trough once there was a rattler, he killed it. Later said had he known what it was he would of left it alone. He bought it home with the pitch fork still in it's head.😟. I believe the guy down the road took it. Dad said they eat the mouse that ate the pig feed. He regretted it. I thought my dad was a kidder loved trying to scare us. Everytime the lights went out. He'd tell us kids Ghost stories. He'd have a huge smile on his face. I miss him. I could tell him a snake I saw, dang if he didn't know what it was. I'd look it up and yes dad was always right.😁. ✌🖖🕯. Love,respect and positivity always n.i.🙂👋👣🙏.

Did you ever think of taking a small group with you, and you, and the group stay there over night. They could help you with the camera, and help you find things, and places too. It also might make your videos more interesting too, not that they arn't interesting now, they are, it just might make them better. It might be more fun for you too. please do more videos of the, Stoney Creek area, it has alot of history, even the Blue Eyed Six, hung out in Stoney Creek area. Excellent Videos! I have learned alot of local history of Pennsylvania. Thanks alot!

Why the spend $ and put a bridge in where vehicles sent allowed to drive and area has no traffic except a few hikers Many bridges need repairs why that one?
@thewanderingwoodsman7227

It's on state game lands, it gets a lot of traffic during hunting season. And it provides access to other areas in case of forest fires or other emergencies.
