I was about to laugh at your comment until I saw, "but with better close control." Your comment is very accurate. Both players do the unexpected, but the difference between the two is that Suarez sometimes look as if he's not that good at football, with so many heavy touches.

I'd say this was the most balanced Brazil team. Good in all areas, not only in attack. The other one was the 2002 squad. The legendary 1982 team was fantastic to watch but their defence let them down. The 1998 team also play great attacking but rely too much on Ronaldo which cost them the final. The 2006 team was the most star-packed but they really let people down.

That’s highly inaccurate. Also, if you score 5 goals, you’d better have missed a lot of chances on the way as well. And there are always reasons you miss scoring chances, be it arrogance, nervouness or lack of skill (or good defending by the other team). Hell, the match before this they would’ve needed six goals to ”win by at least 4 goals”. No way in hell did they create enough chances for that unless you’re wearing glasses of a very deep shade of rose.

Ok, let me rephrase that, in every single match Brazil did create at least 4 more goal scoring oportunities than their opponent. The closest match in terms of goal scoring chances really was the Italy-Brazil final; and in this match against Sweden the fact is Brazil hast 9 clear chances and Sweden had none, unless you consider a Brolin shot that kind of chance

Brazil already deserved to be 3-0 ahead even before Thern's late red. It was complete domination of the game, with easy chances incredibly missed - as the commentator says it best.

That's more or less what I said. Brazil far better in play, but missing easy chances is their fault, not Sweden's. It took them 80min and then against 10 men to score against a team that could hardly walk, let alone run (Brazil had an extra day's rest and the heat was far worse for Swedish players.)

Especially considering the red card was fairly cheap and also completely unnecessary on his part. Any frustration with the referee and/or himself would’ve been excusable.

That would have been impossible. To score at least a goal you have, first of all, to try to touch the ball...a thing that Sweden was not capable of doing it in this game. They just had much luck in the previous one, with Romania, where , without being helped by Prunea (the romanian goalkeeper),Sweden would have stoped in the quater finals, and Romania would have played in the semifinals with Brazil, a game that I am sure it would have been far more attractive than this one (see the Romania-Argentina 3-2 from the same world cup ). But anyway, karma is a bitch, to see Brazil scorin against Sweden from a long ball and with a header it was very fun to watch, and very ironic.
