To celebrate 5000 subscribers, I reviewed this super rare Bentley State Limousine from 2002 produced by Minichamps.
The scale of the model is again 1/18 and it came in a fancy box with some pictures of her majesty, the Queen of England.
Unfortunately the Bentley model had a broken glass (or better to say plastic window). I also tried some new editing features as I am trying to bring my videos to the next level :)
You can buy this car on eBay and the price is between $400 and $800 depending on how lucky you are.
Enjoy watching!

The colour is neither brown nor purple. It’s called Royal Claret which is a paint colour patented by the Crown and used only for State Limousines and State Carriages of the Royal Mews. I have one myself which I purchased at the gift shop of the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace.

Mulliner Park Ward was one of the coachbuilding firms that made the body for Rolls-Royce automobiles; Hooper and James Young were coachbuilders that also supplied the finished body. Prior to the mid-1940s, Rolls-Royce only manufactured the chassis and the engine whilst the body of the car and all its fittings were produced by outside firms like those listed above. Eventually, Mulliner became the bespoke division for Bentley after the company was formally split from Rolls-Royce.

I am not particularly a model car enthusiast but did watch this. Rear inside rear door on the real thing does look very like this, a slot rather than a pocket, suspect that might be something to do with the armour plating. And also the fact that the queen does not need to carry anything. She has people who do all that for her. ;)

Beautiful car pity its damaged, I'd say it was pressure that caused that crack. The Queen still uses the Bentley State Car. I nearly had my foot ran over as a young child by her old Rols Royce Phantom VI State car when she travelled around the UK in 77.

I´ve got the same Model, it was a bit cheaper, and it came in perfect shape! I'm also using gloves to unboxing it... I bought it in a Toy-shop in Germany, for less than 250€. There were only 100 models produced by minicamps. And it is sold out! it is very rar!! I´m very sorry for the little crack in your model! you should not use the doorhandles to open the doors, they can fall off easily, therefor I'm using a toothpick but I try not to open them a lot...

When the Queen is NOT in the car, the Bentley Flying Wings ornament is in place. Which is why it protrudes up higher than on a regular Bentley so that it can be quickly changed. When she is in the car, that hood ornament is replaced with a figure playing polo, presumably Prince Charles. Did your car come with the Windsor Coat of Arms plaque? I see the peg on the roof like the real car....when the Queen is inside that plaque is positioned on that peg on the roof.

I have seen some revieuws of you now including the 1000 dollar Mercedes Benz 600 Pullmann. To start with the price, I saw this model was sold for 160 euro's on catawiki Belgium a few years ago. I wonder why you buy models the other way around, I always buy a model because I like or grew fond of an exsisting car not a model for the sake of the model. My taste is also for the more common automobile up to lets say a Lexus LS 400 my dad owned, and wich I drove myself like so many other cars. The advantage of being 62 lol. So, as seing the cars of your desire in person may be difficult as you want the best of the best (there are great auto museums mind you) I would strongly advise you to see youtube posters like Jay Leno. Who has an amazing collection of old and newer cars incl. a Mercedes Benz 600 Kompressor, and every car presentation he explains the ins and outs of the real car, shows the engine, interiour incl under side and actually drives it so you get a good taste of what that actual car is. (and what an anctual model should look like) For newer cars incl Rollys Royces and Bentleys etc. see Dough de Muro who tests 1 to 2 cars every week inclusive classic cars like a Lamborghini Espada or Countach and is also very good in showing and telling all the details incl. test driving and commenting the actual car. So forgive me for bursting into laughter if you think the beautiful Bentley logo on the grill is strange, good grieve!! Go see actual Bentley's and only after that you may unpack that model and post a revieuw of it. And that dentist steel pick. You may not even approach my car collection whitin 10 meters with that awkward thing, get a soft plastic one on the double!! I like the consequent way in wich you insist of buying black state limousines etc. but please do your homework before posting a revieuw. That the costly Mercedes 600 model couldn't even have you open the trunk without breaking a part would send me racing to my e mail with some very unfriendly comments for the builder but ok. Great that you are such a nice and patient guy, also with this model I would feel fucked big time but thank god for those panels rofl. Also, shape up on knowlegde and keep buying those models. The latst model that made me cheer was the Norev Mercedes 200T Berlin taxi with all parts opening, great paint and fine chrome details, steering wheels and suspension at just 85 Euro's. Another great value for money is the Shelby Collectibles 1966 Ford GT40 MK II #1 Le Mans Weathered Version which I reveived last week, all parts opening, weathered so looks like it just did the 24 H of le Mans, great details on interiour, engine etc at just 65 euro's. But ok, it's not black and 6 meters long rofl. Succes!

I just need to know... is it from 2002? If so, duh, the box is gonna be a bit damaged it’s almost 18 years old now. Just enjoy it. The box doesn’t matter. The model does. Also, the cracked glass, it’s a little thing that I definitely wouldn’t obsess about. I have a 1:24 maybach Pullman limousine and the headlamp glass has fallen off because of me playing around with it. It’s just life. It’s all gonna be gone one day! Short and to the point: don’t fret the little things! Enjoy life even when things aren’t perfect!

I like the Rolls better. IMO the greenhouse on that Bentley is just too big and bulbous, it does kind of remind me of the classic Rolls Royces and Bentleys from the 50s and 60s though. It's a shame you had so many quality control issues on it. I collect 1:18 diecasts of classic American cars and find that many models (even ones that cost well over $100) have a lot of little QC issues. I am like you and don't usually tolerate them well, I often exchange or return them unless it is a VERY minor issue. Do you know what these Bentley models sold for when they were new?

Unfortunately I don't know. Is the "greenhouse" an official name for this enlarged second row of seats? ;)
@tyler2610
@tyler2610 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, the "greenhouse" is a term used to describe the glass covered passenger area in any automobile. BTW I hope you buy more BOS resin models. I love their castings of the American landyachts from the 60s-80s but their quality control is among the worst I've seen! They are real hit or miss. I currently have 3 models I have purchased multiple ones of but can't get one I'm satisfied with. To compare I have about 8 others from them in my collection and a couple of those I bought more than one to get a satisfactory one too!

Τhis is a great vehicle and a good model, but at this price range, $400-$1,000 even (for the 600 pullman), the LIGHTS of all these expensive scale models should be FULLY WORKING. ALL OF THEM, even the dashboard should be able to be lighted, to see the instruments etc. It does not cost them more than a couple of $ and the batteries. THis would make all these models really come alive, esp at night. I have two far less expensive models of the Rolls ROyce Phantom, for which I actually got a full refund from my CC company, because one had major errors and acracked glass, and neither was in the advertised 1:24 scale, one did not have suicide doors, they were quite inaccurate. BUt not only did they have fully functional tail and headlights, alarm lights and noises, they made other sounds as well, when one opened certain doors. ANd I only paid $30 for each. THey both are still fully functional, and I had them for years with the original batteries (I do not eveen know where in the models the batteries are).
@ExternalStar
@ExternalStar Жыл бұрын
You really need to distinguish between accurate modles and toys with sound. Most collectors have them in shelves and do not have access to turn on the lights. This is why more attention is for accuracy rather than functionality
@anastassiosperakis2869

Good camera work, with nice macro perspectives, decent narration and explanation of the model, your expectations, consolations and commiserations. Overall a prospective "stand-out" video for scale model car enthusiasts. However, the incessant drumbeat overture in the background was grossly annoying and totally unnecessary, what did you do this for? What mood or tone were you trying to set? Well, it has been discerned that you failed by ruining the sound quality of the video to subzero status. Consequently, I have not subscribed. 🐵🤓💩

After reading all these comments there are many topics I could comment on. First, I feel sorry you have such bad luck when it comes to damaged pieces and problematic working features, and I can commiserate when it comes to bad packing and rough shipping.....Back to the Queen and her ride . I considered the Minichamps 02 Parade car , but about that time and a little later I felt that Minichamps had taken a downturn in quality and in particular my experience was that their Bentley's kinda hit the skids when it came to their chrome quality (cloudy on my Blower, and the 50's fastback) and it seemed the weight was reduced as plastic pieces increased and the 02 Queens car was prohibitively expensive........I love glass ,Large greenhouse SOOO , my solution was to buy the older Royal Bentley with the huge glassed in back and a number of ROYAL features ,like the TV cabinet ,and TV, along with the Champagne and glasses set in the cabinet .......I wish I could say there are some around but I haven't seen one in a while, but Ebay is always changing ya never know......One more thing for the collector of Old American Iron......I personally don't think much of BOS ,and I think even less of Resin in general ! I'll explain some other time, I do think for the money though that the best bargain for old American cars are Sunstar Platinum , Hwy 61 ,and if your spending more , GMP.
