I liked the way the whole Tutorial is designed. Andrew is moving and shooting THE SAME WAY a common man moves, watches n Shoots, faces similar problems n finds solution. You have put your feet in Our Shoes 😀. That's why the Tutorial is so important.👍👍👍👍 I wish you do a similar tutorial on how to shoot when someone is out on a Tour with Family....or friends. We mostly use our cameras to store such memories. Request you for such a Tutorial with an APS-C sensor Camera. 🙏🙏 Namaste 🙏🙏 Best wishes 😀😃

Very good tutorial, Andrew. I didn't have a good a impression when I first watched one of you videos but I take that back now. You've explain the fundamentals and the rules of ISO-Fstop-Shutter in combination, let alone lens quality, camera type and features. It's a lot of math and combination, and it make sense now. Thank you so much for the help!

Andrew, I am so glad I found your tutorials. I probably saw 30 videos of different photographers and some of those videos were quite long. I learned very little but on your channel in 5 minutes I learned more than the previous 30 videos. You explain things in a very simple, understandable way and although I have heard a topic discussed before by someone else, it just didn't hit me. Then I saw your video and I find myself hitting myself in the forehead with my open hand, going, I Got It!!! You have cleared up what were mysteries for me, I thank you very much. I will continue to watch all your videos and learn more, you are great. I subbed of course.

Wish I discovered this channel earlier. This video saved me hours of Googling through information on how to calculate the number of stops. Most information / videos I've watched / read were a little too complicated for me. I'm learning photography on my own, and I must say, this channel has helped me understand photography much better.

I did a lot of street photography during my family trip to KL last year. I think it's one of the most camera friendly big cities in the world. The only thing to care about is that you don't melt in the unbearable heat and your gear doesn't vaporise with the 300% humidity. Also...beware...it might start raining any time. So keep a few plastic bags to keep your expensive gear safe.

Hi Mr. Andrew. I love your videos! Can I suggest you to explain why the focus-and-recompose technique sometimes misses the desired DoF? I still struggle with that issue, but I've learned that this is due to sine of the angle of movement (from focus point to the point of recomposition). That is, if you focus above subject (in the eyes mostly) and then down your camera to recompose, your DoF starting point will be placed slightly behind the intended plane (eyes vertical plane), so therefore is sometimes needed to compensate using a stop in apperture...

New sub to your channel and love the information. Do you have a video that just goes over the comment you made for increasing your FStop 2 times and ISO 2 times. That’s the first time I’ve heard that comment about adjustments besides that if one changes so much the other just change but I haven’t found or heard of which one would be best to adjust

nice video - good tips - thanks - first trick would be to use a smaller mirrorless cameras :) with black tape on logs on cameras and black or very dark color shirt - and black strap if you need strap - DSLRs are a killer as one is having a big item in front of face - vs a mirrorless with a tillable LCD so one can have camera at body level so few would expect you to be shooting - one of course also needs to read about laws in each country - most countries allow you to shoot on public streets - but sometimes there are buildings you cannot photograph like military and some government buildings for example - of course best to get a permission from folks - but not always practical -

I honestly didn’t think I was gonna learn anything.. I’m glad I can humble myself to listen. I learned one new thing. Thank you so much... it was about the stops.. 400 to 800 to 1600 being three stops to compensate the f4 to f11... that was pretty interesting

Don’t you worry about graininess when you go above ISO 1000 in still shots? If you don’t need the ISO for fast moving objects - what’s the highest ISO that can be used without graininess? Thanks.

The highest usable ISO depends on a few factors. (1) What is the camera/sensor? Newer cameras can produce cleaner images at the same ISO than their older counterparts. (2) How much light is there? Darker images show more noise, i.e. there is more visible noise in the shadows? (3) How will the image be used? Downsizing for web will hide a lot of noise. Converting to black and white will also often hide a lot of noise. My D300 was usable up to ISO640. My D500 can go much, much higher and produce usable photos.

Interesting. If I hand-held my camera that doesn't have stabilization on the lens or body I normally set the shutter speed to 1/125s; otherwise, I can set it to 1/60s but never slower unless it's on a tripod. If the subject is moving I'll increase the shutter speed. I'll just let the camera adjust the ISO automatically. That works for me. People do things differently.

Any TLR works just fine or has for me for the last 50 years. Quiet and unobtrusive. And if you look at the light falling on your hand. compensate a stop or two if needed, you have your exposure. KISS.
