So I did a Carli 3.5 Back country leveling system on my new F350 longbed. KMC Wheels 18x9 (+18 offset) on 37x12.5x18 Toyo AT3's. This is a Backcountry kit with added options that include the torsion sway bar with billet end links + hi mount Carli steering stabilizer. I also added a +1" rear block as when you just add the front end coils to the 2020+ super duty the rear will sit 1/2" low. Adding the block makes the rear a 1/2" high now. I think it sits perfect. I have had this in for a few days.. this is my objective review of it. Overall thoughts and personal experience this far.

Excellent build, I’m doing this same exact kit on my 22, although I’m getting the radius arms. Well explained detailed video, finally the rear block was explained correctly, basically saying it’s a block that’s 1” taller than the stock block. When they told me they’re putting a 3” block it didn’t make sense to me, now I realize it’s going from a stock 2” to a 3”. Thank you for that.

Great review of both the Carli and the tires. I'm waiting on delivery of the signature system with the torsion bars for my 24 250 Tremor. I'm right there with you on the tires. I've had the AT3 before and the Wild peaks. I'm still torn on going from stock 35s to 37s. Not a fan of the Duras that it came with. You convey the info perfectly and no dumb shit.

Liked the video … very honest review! I have done 3 super duty trucks the past 7 years . Short bed, Long beds, all f350 single rear wheel . All of them I put the Carli 4.5 pintop with add packs on rear. The last one I’m still driving is 2019 platinum 4.5 pintop all upgrades possible! Radius arms long travel airbags sway bar . All my trucks ride soooo much better then they ever did in stock form! When I put the sway bar on the platinum truck ….”it really was like putting independent front suspension” on my truck! That sway bar is absolutely the best way to get your truck to help tremendously with “Ride Complience” . I’m having Cal Truck in Rocklin upgrade my pintop shocks to the E Venture … I’ll let you know how that upgrade works out! Ken

I have had a few different suspension lifts..and Carli by far is the best. My latest is a 2020 F250 7.3 with just the 3" leveling system. I added sway bar end links, rear shocks, adj. track bar, high mount steering stabilizer. I went with the least expensive lift only cause I knew it would be a improvement over stock and happened to be in someone elses truck that has the same system you have. I work this truck and pull bobcats, front end loaders and a heavy 34' catamaran. I sold the stock 275 65 R20's and went to a larger 295 65 R20 which is 35.4...Tire was Yokohama X-AT. it still looked a lil small to my liking...so I sold those tires after 1 month as well as the stock black Ford wheels and switched to a 9" wheel and 37 12.5 20's. I again went with those X-AT's cause I liked them better than the Nitto Ridge grapplers. I wore them out at 40,000 miles which seems to be the norm on all my F250's and 350's. I then went with the Falkins...heard great reviews but was skeptical. These by far are the best tire I have had on and off road pulling my equipment out of the jobsite. They don't load up and they are only about 5% louder than those stock Michelons. Tires make a big difference and pressure is the other thing that helps with the ride. 50 front 44 rear is where I keep these. I ended up getting a 5 Star tune which gave me a lil more power in the tow set up but mainly to adjust the speedo. Subscribed

Plan on getting the commuter on a 22 F-350 7.3 and running 37x13.5 tires - the external reserviour looks cool on the backcountry kit but not sure it looks $500 cooler and I think from a practical POV that's the main difference. I guess I'll need to put a bigger block in back too - was hoping it would sit level with just the front done on a 350 but I guess not. Def don't want to end up with a reverse rake.

Thanks for posting! I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I have a 2019 F350 8' Crew Cab very similar to your setup with a Carli Commuter 2.5" leveling kit. I also have Black Rhino -18 offset rims with 275/70R18 Toyo MT tires. I am considering going to the same tires you have next time they are due for a change. You mention that you have +18 offset rims - does that not push your tires too close to the radius arms? I do not mind a little bit of plastic trimming but I am worried about rubbing on the inside components when turning. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have a 2022 F350 Tremor with the 6.7. I have never bought anything like this before….and I love it! I probably won’t do a complete suspension upgrade, but, am considering replacing the stock shocks with Bilstein 5100….or maybe one of the Carli ones? In your opinion…would either of those make a difference? I am interested in seeing your review on the Toyo AT3….i was getting ready to get a set of Wildpeak AT3W…but they have been discontinued. Being replaced with the AT4W which I believe is about 7 pounds heavier. I also would like a very quiet tire, that is good on snow….I live in Durango, Co. I will check you other videos to see if you did a review on the AT3. Thanks again…

@Zack7228 hi there… full disclosure I have since sold this truck and am now in a half ton but I’ll give you my 2 cents on the tires and shocks etc. I’ve had a lot of trucks the past 10 yrs or so. Many with different suspension setups/shocks tires etc.. for shocks. I have yet to really notice much difference in shocks and I have ran bilstein/fox and Rancho shocks on a bunch of diff trucks. The biggest variance is springs on these big heavy trucks. The shock doesn’t affect the ride nearly as much as the springs / leaf springs. Carli front coils and or some Deaver rear leafs would be your biggest game changers on the ride if your super duty. Just changing the shocks doesn’t effect the ride hardly at all if your still on the stiff springs/leaf packs. As for tires! I did like the Toyo AT3’s. They held up well but do get a little noisy as they age. They look real good/aggressive too in my opinion… having said that… I’ve had 2 trucks since that F350. Another f350 and now a half ton ram. On both of these I am/have went with wild peak At3w’s. They ride noticeably smoother and quieter than the AT3 in my opinion. I have been very impressed with them for overall ride/feel/wear etc. the next set of tires I do will 100% be the At4w wild peaks. If I had a choice I would pick the wild peaks every time over the Toyo. To be fair I ran 37’s in the Toyo and both wild peaks I’ve had are 35’s. Hope that helps you some way. 👍

Just catching your vid, after installing a 2.5 com utwron my 2017 F350. Same truck configuration as yours. I just did the kit contents, nothing extra and still stock lariat 18" wheels. Agree,the ride is better, but not earth shattering, even with Fox 2.0s. Do you feel any intermitent vibration thru your steering wheel?I am thinking it's the track bar vibrating against the frame mount due to angle, which cjc said is normal with spherical joint. Thanks in advance and look forward to AT3 review.
@avgdadgarage1982
@avgdadgarage1982 Жыл бұрын
I don’t feel any vibration or feedback in the wheel. I do have a high mount steering stabilizer though, not sure if you have that. I do have the track bar and also the sway bar with the end links. Ideally I would have liked to have done this kit a piece at a time…. Add the springs drive it a while, shocks drive it, add the track bar and drive it etc so you could feel the difference with each piece as you add it. But overall it drives very well for a big truck on 37’s

The only advantage to the Carli radius arms that I am aware of is strength over stock and a slight bit more of adjustment capability for setting caster angle… other than that they look really clean but not for the $ for me… for the suspension components that were installed was right in the 6500$ range without wheels tires… wheels/tires were about 3500$
