F150 Door Speaker Upgrade

Finally upgraded the door speakers in my F150 after one of them was blown.
Note: SAVE the factory speaker grille's and foam surround!! I ended up pulling the door panels back off and installing the speakers grille's as they helped with the sound and got a bit more deeper tone.

I had kicked speakers that came with a subkit I bought n they are quite compared to the stock speakers. I have a 2010 f150 Haley Davidson trim

Short answer, I didnt want to wait for them to ship to me and the shop near me had them in stock... Still going strong with no issues over a year later

Currently looking at doing this to my 2014. So 6x8’s can fit in the front and rear doors? Looking at kickers and Rockford fosgates. Do the speakers any sort of bass without an amp? Eventually I will be putting in an amp just curious how they would be without. Thanks!

2013 and 2014 have identical doors so yes. I like Kicker so went with them and yes, they have a bit more bass than factory as well

Do I need to put the speaker cover/grill over my speaker or will it affect the sound?

Where is the sound test?? On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate the door speakers upgrade??

Just the speaker upgrade I would say it was about a 7 out of 10. Now I have the 2 10" subs under the back seat with a 5 channel amp and it's 10 out of 10 overstock no questions asked. The amp really lets these speakers open up and the sound is MUCH more clear

Originally just the factory head unit, now I have a 5 channel and subs, huge difference with the amp for sure

So i just removed one of my blown door panel speakers, I want to totally swap every speaker out with new rockford fosgate speakers, what is your opinion on the overall sound upgrade?

I just installed 2 10s and a 5 channel and it sounds amazing. Really brings the life outta the door speakers now. I would highly recommend ampin them, but even swapping with factory setup was better
