How to replace the purge valve on a 2017 F150 3.5L ecoboost engine

Thank you for this video! The truck was throwing a P0443 engine code. 2018 F150 3.5L ecoboost w/ 10sp transmission - I used part number JL3Z-9B325-D which Ford has called a "Bracket - Fuel Tube Support", and paid $132 from my local robber. The above part number superseded the old part number that came off of my truck; old part number: JL34-9B325-AC. There is conflicting data between where the "purge valve" is located between models - some claiming frame rail of truck which is not true. My purge valve was located on top of the engine just like this! Took maybe ten minutes to swap out. Put some spray oil on the rubber grommet for easier installation. Also, the electrical connector - there was a tiny white clip that needs to be slid towards the firewall of the truck. After unclicking it and pushing towards firewall, you can then depress the retaining clip in and unconnect it like normal.

Nice video. I'd appreciate a comment on how the check engine light is reset. I've replaced mine twice now. When the first Duralast brand valve did not turn off the check engine light, I assumed it was faulty. I got a replacement....same result. My dealership is certain it's the EVAP solenoid purge valve. So now, I really don't know where I stand.

Hi Jim, you need to plug into your vehicle computer to reset your check engine light. You should be able to pick up the device at a local auto parts store.

hey all, it is one complete unit Jonathan. Lou I don't have the # handy but check with your local Ford dealership, they should be able to provide it to you. crocs, changed'er out at around 110K kms
