I am going to watch this video over and over again because I became confused when Mike was hitting the cue ball on center then he was hitting at 1/4. What determined this change? Thanks for this continuing education. I think Mike said he was not going to use english this session.

While waiting for this banking video, I used simple geometry to determine where on the rail I needed the object ball to hit for the bank and used split the difference to hit that spot. That seems to work. It takes the guesswork out of it. What Mike is doing seems to be by feel only gained by repetition. Does my thinking make sense?

So what about if the object ball is in line say with second diamond ( centre of one half of the table ) as you only played balls in line with first or third diamonds. I'm still confused as to how to pick the angle to shot ( knowing the line the ball will go in )

Im confused about one thing and wondering if you could clear it up for me? Early in the video he has you aim center cue to different parts of the object ball. Then in another part, after what looks like an edit point, hes talking about hitting quarter cue to edge of the object ball.
@FaDaVlogs

I don't recall quarter cue. Always been center of cue ball to the spots or edge to edge. ✌

Sorry for the confusion, at 7:08 he stops you from taking a shot and im having trouble making out what he is saying. Made the mistake of trying the closed captioning and it just made it worse.

Teriffic videos, have a question about Mike's 'horizon' shot...in another vid you asked him WHERE on the horizon does he hit? As he explained horizon, it could be any point between 6 oclock and 9 oclock...you tried to pin him down, but he didn't answer...so is the answer "it depends"...I assume as the angle varys, he's adjusting where he hits in that horizon range? That sound right?

Yes. What I did is hit a ton of balls until I know where to hit it at what angle. You will eventually figure it out.

Hey Guys, I have a question on banking. Does it matter how close to the banking rail the object ball is? In other words, if the object ball is an inch away or two diamonds away, is it still the same hit. Also, does the distance of the cue ball to the OB matter? Thanks. I'll keep watching for the answers.

Does Mike still steal the chalk off the table while you’re playing him? Claiming he “accidentally” put it in his pocket??? Tell him Dan King says hi. And glad he’s doing well.

So basically, softer rails have more compression and less throw, equals "coming up short". And firmer rails have less compression, so a truer angle and more throw. Right?
