Fade Your Edits With an Overall Amount Slider in Luminar Neo!

The overall amount slider is one thing that is missing from Luminar Neo that we had in Luminar AI. Hopefully, the developers will add it soon. But until then I hope these two workarounds help you out. Which one will you be using?

Exactly; can't possibly be very complicated for the Skyum team to have the 'Overal Amount' slider from AI reintroduced! The question should actually be why on earth they chose to ditch it! Let's hope they're watching this video ..

Layers are one of those features in Luminar Neo I keep overlooking, mainly because of the lack of collapse layers (fingers crossed that gets implemented soon) I find it a bit of a faff. Excellent video Anthony.

No.2, sometimes with several layers with different creative edits in each layer. Have you thought of using layers in a similar way as a workaround for ”virtual copies”? I have been experimenting with this idea the last few weeks. Not even editing the original image, but creating several duplicate layers with separate edits (like in Lightroom). Then only displaying one layer at a time as a separate edit. However, I wish that Skylum would add a feature to keep virtual copies as separate edits in the catalogue. Maybe a topic for a new video?

Ahhhhh thanks Ant… I was waiting for this as I asked about the intensity edit slider previously. Just wish Neo would incorporate that final edit slider back into the edit page the same as LuminarAi

Typically, I'd finish a technical edit, export the image, and then re-import it to make additional creative edits. Thanks for sharing this handy life-hack with layered edits; it will greatly enhance my workflow moving forward.

You have shown a similar technique in the past by introducing a layer of the original image (unedited ) to scale it back. Now I preferred the second method.

Interesting video. It has long irked me that Neo doesn't have the scale back slider - so frustrating! I have been using your 1st method up to now but the 2nd option looks much better so will definitely be giving that a try.

Thanks. Seems to be hitting the mark 😀👍 re ellipsis,I think I also referred to it as three dots too 🙃 Yeah, I got a sweet spot for me ol matey mystical. I like it because it often takes the edge off of the tools that tend to add more structure to the image. It just softens it in a nice way IMHO.

Silly question and I'm sure it is covered elsewhere but... With the layers technique, can you apply crop/rotate to either layer and it does the change on both? Or do you need to (somehow) merge the layers and then crop etc., Also, would you consider crop etc., to be a part of the tech edit (so negates my own question really...)

Hi. I tend to crop at the end of my workflow. And yes, it'll crop the full layer stack as one.
