Thank you so much for posting this video! I have an issue with my 2004 Chevy Silverado, the actuators that are under the dashboard and blend the heat and cool are stuck in the heat position! And it is summer time in Tennessee and so even when I turn on the air conditioner it comes out hot air. :-( so now I watch your video and I am going to bypass my heater core that way I can have good cold air conditioner and I don't have to take out the whole dashboard just to try to replace the actuators for the climate controls. Your video is very good! You get right to the point, you show exactly where the hoses connect on the firewall, and you show the user what type of connector to use join the two hoses back together.. the inlet line and the return line. Thank you again! One day I hope to come back down to Texas soon. I used to drive down to Laredo all the time and go visit Nuevo Laredo. My girlfriend used to live in Monterey and she actually got married on the international bridge in Laredo. LOL LOL

Great video. Did the same thing when I was younger on my ‘76 Impala. Replaced all the hoses and radiator including these cheapo connectors on my dad’s gmc 2 years ago. One just failed again yesterday. Gonna replace them and buy one of them hose connector sets that you used and put it in the glove box. That way we won’t be stranded.

As long as the coolant circuit keeps flowing it should not be an issue as you're simply "bypassing" a leaking or broken heater core. If you cap or block off the circuit on both ends you may possibly experience overheating in that section of the coolant circuit because the hot coolant may simply sit there constantly collecting heat instead of circulating completely thru to the radiator

those T's go to the rear heater core, so yes you can just bypass them too if you want, but if the reason why you are doing this is because the front heater core is leaking you could just leave the rear ones on and it will still help keep the truck warm on the winter..... Hello young man I hope you answer my question but who knows this video is a little bit over a year but my question to you is on the vehicle that you are working on you know bypassing the heater core, did you delete the quick disconnects that came with the truck from the factory. I noticed that you have no quick connects or disconnect so I don’t know what they’re called but in so many words I noticed that you have a straight hose with clamps there that’s why I’m asking can you tell me what year this vehicle is and or did you delete the quick connects that’s very important because I’m thinking about doing the same thing using the hose directly to the heater cover because the quick connects are very expensive. If I’m not mistaken each one’s like $30-$40 and I need two of them so please let me know what you did because if it worked on your truck I hope it will work on mine. Thank you once again sir please send me a message let me know what you did and God bless you and your family and friends and all the people that follow you on your Channel so thank you once again. @FalconsGarage
@FalconsGarage 4 жыл бұрын
Oh no ... that’s a big don’t do that. The heater core is inside the “air box” witch is under the dash. Even cutting the fire wall the heater core will not come out. Plus the heater core is not directly behind were the hoses come out of the fire wall. Hoses are in an “L” shape so the actual heater core is more towards the right side of the truck. It will be 100 easier to remove the dash then to go in the way you are thinking.
