woohoo, knot-along! i'm not dressing up this year because I usually don't.. I did as a kid though! I love the idea of a video comparing two of the same pattern, one made with the flat alpha technique, one without. would be cool to see the difference(s). happy halloweeeeeen!

I'm finally getting a bit of "me time" between unboxing my house move. I'm knotting along with pattern number 81418 😊 and this worked out perfectly because I totally needed a bookmark hole!

The creator of potterless just started a new podcast called the newest Olympian, same premise as potterless but for the Percy Jackson series

When you were making that old school alpha I was like, hey that's how I first learned to make alphas! Then you said you felt old, and I was like, wait, I'm older than her, so that means I'm old too! LOL!!! I learned my first bracelet when I was seven years old from a neighbor who was 4 years older than me, and now I'm thirty-freaking-seven!!!! And all she taught me was half a forward knot and half a backward knot, so I would just do half a forward, and half a backward, and just keep repeating that! Then I learned that I was only doing half the knot! I had no idea that you had to tie each one twice! So my bracelets back then were a lil weird and I could only use two colors. Then I started doubling my string and I'd use two different colors as one string, just trying anything to throw some variation in there! But once I learned that you have to tie each knot twice, that's when I really learned to make bracelets and made my first chevron! But I was making them with half knots for the longest time! Smh! I'll have to make one and send you a pic so you can see the trash I was making lol!

And you've stuck with the hobby all this time?! Impressive! I find it so relaxing, but that comment, about the ancient method made me feel so old!! 😂 I think we all do something weird when we start - I knew you had to do two knots, but not that you needed to change the direction, so my bracelets would end up with half of the knots upside down! hahaha!

@@MegMakesCrafts LOL! I guess we all gotta start somewhere, and we keep learning as we go! I've noticed you do things that I do while knotting. Like when you're tying a knot, you hold onto the other strings with your fingers that you're not using to tie the knot in order to keep them out of the way, and I do that too! I never noticed I was doing that until I saw you do it too!

I use to love going to the movies then I got with my hubby and now I dont go to the movies anymore because he has a 5 year old attention span. I love supernatural and my hubby hates it funny thing is he loves scary movies. Don't have Netflix so I just watch alot of KZfaq or read if I get a new book which is hardly ever because someone has to be the parent get things done or paid for like bills.

I use to read Alpha and Omega by Patricia Brigs, but for some reason I can't bring myself to read her most recent ones I don't know if I'm afraid it won't be as good as the others or if she is bringing them to an end. Sorry for the horrible spelling 😅 🤪. I'm going to take my daughter trick or treating it will be her 1st time actually walking normally she would be in a stroller. She is going to be Jessie from Toy Story 2

I watch so much KZfaq now I've debated getting rid of Netflix but it has the kids shows my daughter watches so I keep it around. I haven't bought a new physical book for myself in forever - literally a few years! I personally think the newer ones are just as good BUT I do find her books tend to repeat very similar story archs after you've read the first few.

What brand of string did you use for the base strings?

I hear they completely butchered the slavic stuff in the Witcher, that you wouldn't even know it's supposed to be slavic, that it's just another game of thrones-y show. If you like Sci fi i can't recommend fringe enough. I loved lost. They don't make them like this anymore xD Halloween wasn't a thing here at all when I was in school, now it seems to have gained popularity but I have no friends so I haven't been to any party or ever dressed up.
@MegMakesCrafts2 жыл бұрын
Yeaaahhh Witcher definitely doesn’t give off a Slavic vibe. I didn’t even know it was supposed to be! I’ll have to check out fringe- I’ve heard of it before but never watched it!
@themeltedchocolate2 жыл бұрын
@@MegMakesCrafts the Witcher books were aaaaall about Slavic stuff, myths, themes, it was such a big part of them so it's weird to hear that the American show americanized it so much

@@themeltedchocolate I didn’t even realize it was a book! I had heard it was based off of a video game!
@themeltedchocolate2 жыл бұрын
@@MegMakesCrafts haha nope the video game series is based on a book series, super popular in poland back in the day. There was a polish TV show in the 90s (or maybe early 00s) too. The game is made by a polish company. All those lean heavily into slavic culture which is why a lot of people seem very disappointed in the Netflix adaptation.

@@themeltedchocolate well now I’m definitely going to have to hunt down the book!
