I can appreciate trying to go as thin as possible with the rye seed. I went real heavy last year and my Bermudagrass had a lot of trouble transitioning. I’m thinking of doing a turf colorant on the dormant bermuda this year instead of overseeding with rye.

I got the Barenbrug turf star rpr to try this year. It regenerates and spreads like bermuda but is still a perennial ryegrass. Looking forward to see how it goes. These videos definitely help thanks!

PGF Complete should be sold in the big box stores. I've gotten great results with it. I'm giving it to my indoor plants now. It costs more because it has micros and such, but I think people would happily pay the price for the results.

This video was great for a worry I had about watering my newly overseeded fescue lawn late in the day. I overseeded with Black Beauty Ultra this past Sunday the 4th after a heavy core aeration. I set up an above ground irrigation system with the spiked Orbit gear drive sprinklers on two 4 zone timers...one zone per sprinkler. Right now I have those going at 540am, 12pm, and 540pm for 7 minutes per zone each cycle. Too much? Not enough? I definitely don't want the seed to dry out but I worry about watering too much as I've battled brown patch the last couple of years in my backyard. I'm near Atlanta by the way. Thanks so much!

Hey Doc, my Pencross Creeping Bent ended up germinating at 7 days. Thanks for the info on your last video. Looks like you ended up doing 8-9lbs/1,000 sq ft with your NuSprint Annual Rye? I bought a 50lb bag for 5,000 square ft. so that should work out perfect. Appreciate all the insight!

Love the content, but I’m never laying down seed again. Learned my lesson with Barnyard Swallow and Mourning Dove invasions. I could’ve covered it with peat moss or a thin layer of hay, but no thanks.

Ok Doc... I'm in Mid Michigan and have a orchard project going. Tractor traffic took its toll last month. I've got everything cleaned up raked and releveled but I need to know is it too late to oversees now? Or should I just wait till spring? Temps are steady in the 40's and high 30's for the next few weeks. With lows in the high 20's at night. Thanks

Doc, the univ extension service I would use, has a soil test with everything except the boron, copper, and iron levels. So would Clemson just be the better option for the results you look at and base your stuff off of? Also is a organic matter, total C And total N worth it or needed?

I thought watering in the evening is not recommended because that's how fugus gets introduced. That's the growing conditions for fungus? Dark and moist. I always thought you wants your grass dry going into the evening to prevent that.
