Cyrus McWind But that’s the thing, they actually don’t. Or if they do, it’s not gender-specific and men do it too. So the joke is annoyingly bad because it’s satirizing something that isn’t true and it seems to be the only joke they’re capable of making about Meg these days. It’s super lazy.

The "joke" has nothing to do with women obsessing over celebrities. Meg is extremely lonely, to the point she unhealthily obsesses over someone who gives her even the slightest attention. Brian kissed her when he was drunk, she obsessed. Joe said he didn't mind being seen with her, she obsessed. A mall "Santa" let her sit on his lap, she obviously obsessed. Also, not a one of these people are celebrities. Not sure where that's coming from. It's not so much a joke as it is to show just how desperate for attention Meg really is.
