There is something so special about being up on the shipping container build and witnessing Lou's hard work in building our family home. It felt like this past week, every time Max and I went up to the land, there was another big install to celebrate. Though I have to admit that seeing him on the roof of the shipping container doing the sky light install made me a little nervous!! I feel like this video captured so many special little family moments, and it makes me so happy that we decided to include Max on the channel. I can see us watching this one back when we're old while we reminisce about the start of life on the mountain.

Our 7th baby is named Max. He's a pretty awesome kid. One thing that really surprised me when I became a mom was how much joy and fulfillment I found in it. I love seeing other moms embrace and enjoy it as much as I did. It seems like a cliché but it really is true: the days are long but the years are short. Savor every moment.

Here in the wilderness of northern 🇨🇦 it is -20ºc (-4ºF) this morning and we have a gorgeous pink watercolour sky… but I’m now going to stop skygazing and watch the next steps in your shipping container build. Yeah for massive tarps!!!!!! We have a couple of huge tarps that we use all the time for various tasks and they are invaluable when you live in the wilderness. Also… at 12:30 I was going to suggest that the metal cut-outs from the containers would make great coverings for your stacked firewood, but I see that you’ve already thought of this. We use old sheets of metal roofing to cover our firewood that we have cut, split, and stacked for next winter. (We will move this firewood into the woodshed in the Spring). Sheets of metal work great for keeping the moisture off your woodpile. Great video today, I am loving the journey… and I’m so happy you got the car started. Warm hugs to you Ⓜary💕

I failed to catch up on a couple of recent videos, and the last thing I remembered was the story with the car keys. You guys should use Clear Polycarbonate Roof Panel so you don't lose light from the windows if you decide to connect the containers with roofing!! Maybe trellis up some grapes or something fun- little breezeway gardens in between💚🌱 love you guys!

That’s true. But if she’s anything like I was when I had my first baby, people had to pry my daughter out of my arms. I had her on my hip when I did my some of my housework. She was my little bits and pieces. 😊

Hi Dana! Not very new of a mom but I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old, and I know that level of excitement well. My kids nursed every two hours through the night until they were prob 8-9 months old and didn’t consistently sleep through the night until they were well over 1 year old. Sleep sure changes you! I’ve been following your fam’s journey back since the Ody days, so happy for where you’ve come, and enjoy every new vid. You’re inspiring me in my little family’s future dreams and goals.

I feel a little star struck that you have a replied 😉 our Maggie is a real blessing, our rainbow baby as people say. A surprise but miracle baby after we experienced 2 losses. She joined our 10 & 6 year old, Harry & Mary. So despite being our 3rd she feels like my first, Its been a rollercoaster to say the least. Happy happy family I loved the car part my CR-V did the same thing. But I don't think everyone has the same thing but wow that's awesome. Max only keeps growing 💗. Max is soooo cute!!! I miss my kids being little but its also very nice being able to slee again. 😄 You can try to put a clear roof between the containers! It gets pretty warm under them but with enough airflow it shouldn't be a problem. Then you have light and protection.

It was amazing when you cut the hole for the skylight and the metal piece fell down, how much light flooded into the container. Maybe you will do one more in the kitchen over where you cook and prep, and of course a couple in the office editing container, and maybe in the bedroom container so you can watch the stars and the clouds.

I'm a new mom too! A little 9 month old. And at 8 months we were excited to get 4 hours consecutive (but I was feeding 3 times through the night!). However, we recently started sleeping in a separate space from the baby and she's sleeping from 9pm to 4 or 5am (one feeding)! I feel like a new person :)

I have an April 2022 baby boy! I feel you on the sleep situation but one day they won't need us as much so I'm trying to savour the moments and find ways to make up for the lost sleep lol. It's so fun watching your home build. We hope to do the same one day soon :)

Looking good guy's sky light yes i ordered two came like yours i refused them they where not complete to me .lucky was not in a hurry for them found two one piece unit's paid $ 50.00 each brand new .No leaks after four years so far .It lights up that end of your c can very good anyways well done guy's

Here's a new dad. Our son was born in the beginning of June last year, so the two should be pretty close in age :-) Love to watch how similar in behavior Max seems to be. Also: 5 hours of continuous sleep is good in our book, as well! Take care and keep the videos coming. Greetings from Europe!

Is Max crawling yet now that he is free of foot braces? He is such a cherub baby. My grandson didn't crawl until he was nearly 1yo. I got him a Crawligator that promotes crawling or at the very least rolling around on the floor on their belly. I love watching the container home build. Nothing fancy but practical and with your beautiful property to enjoy.

We had the same thing happened with our Aztek. Lost the key, had to order a new one from Amazon and went to a key shop to get it cut. It would open the door but it would not start the car.

Try clear polycarbonate roof panels on your connecting roof. They sell them at the same place you can get roof metal.

Quick question. Did you put the skylight at an angle to prevent water sitting on it when it’s raining? A little angle would allow water to run off, which would in turn prevent later possible moss buildup or having to clean it so often. All the best. Cheers.

don't know about US cars but most cars here have their keys chipped - you want a new key you have to put the original chip in.... the physical key is mostly only for backup to open one of the doors...
