I have a ram pump at my cabin I'm told similar ones will pump water up to 290 feet head, I pump about 80 ft. head and it works great, but I have a receiver tank their. If you don't have one I possibly could sell this one, it is quiet just, click, click, click. But now I have a generator and can use electricity to pump water. I don't use the cabin much anymore since I am 100% disabled from agent orange. Ram pumps are great. and so simple to set up.

Who cares about the trees and ecosystem that relied on that spring irrigating the hill I guess. At least with a succession of pools you could have left some flow for the local hydrology

I've been following/watching you guys for YEARS and I have to say, to this day you are still some of my favourite youtubers. You are so incredibly genuine! You inspire so many by truly staying true to yourselves. Whether it's travel, van life, homesteading, creative pursuits, vegan to non-vegan. I'm so inspired and have nothing but utter admiration for you both!! Sending you so much love!

i'm just in SHOCK about max! around 5:45 he starts looking over dana's shoulder at the pancake, watches it for a few seconds, and says "done!" before mama says so! What a smart boy 🥰 from the looks of it he gets a lot of practice in the kitchen

I know this is about 8 months late lol, but there is a book you can get from lowes or home depot its called UGLY'S Electrical Reference. This book will show you how to make bends in conduit. Also how many wires to safely have in the different diameter conduit.

Could have framed a house from wood and had a WIDER (as you know from boats beam is everything when it comes to comfort) and cheaper build I know I know containers are sexy gritty industrial blah blah but in reality they are narrow and when you build inside they get smaller. I don’t believe they are anything but for looks. Too much extra work to get a smaller space. BTW why do most RVs have slides now? Room? Yes but beam cause it makes things more comfortable

It is incredibly inspiring to see how far y’all have come. I remember watching your van build videos and more. Even the video where you sold the van. It made me tear up a little as I have done the same. I love the life y’all are creating for yourselves! Living a dream!! 🎉❤

With that much vertical drop you could pipe your spring water to a turbine, make electricity, and draw your use water off the turbine outflow. SWEET!

I did the same thing, we are not vegans, we aren't even vegetarian, we are meat eaters, it's sad, but it's true. Follow your cravings, it matters Humans have been here for a quarter million years, and our diet has changed in one hundred years due to new age stupid stuff. I use lard, tallow, butter, dairy, etc, etc. We were not built to be vegi, we do best with animal fats. Avoid the seed oils like the plague, we were never designed to use seed oils, and it's worse when we fry with them.

Congratulation young man on developing your spring. Fear not, the vast majority of spring water is far better and cleaner than city water. I have a spring on my land with a summer discharge rate of 240,000 Gals/ hour and a winter rate of 320,000 gals/hour, that feeds a 240-acre naturally formed lake, The runoff of which I use to run my 800 KVA Hydro-electric system. The spring occurs from a limestone formation and test lower than any Municiple water source in Missouri for lead, zinc, Cadmium, or any other heavy metal of organic contaminants. The lime stone water makes the best Tennessee I've ever tasted, which I put in oak barrels and let it age 3, 6 and 12 years, so I make a couple hundred gallons a year the old-fashioned way in my granddads 50 gallon copper pot still and use his favorite old mash recipe. There's no better life than being completely self-reliant. Enjoy your efforts and projects, they will be the most satisfying of your life.

I really, really recommend you to perform a small ritual asking for permission and giving thanks to the mountain and creek spirits for allowng you to have this clean water. I know it sounds primitive and some kind of not necessary, but I can assure it is, you and your beautiful family would thank me later.

Hi there Dana, Lou & Max😍, loving seeing your journey, a little known help for Japanese Knotweed are blight susceptible potatoes!...they also deal with bindweed too, simply plant the blight susceptible potatoes in and around your Knotweed/bindweed at normal potato growing spacing & let them do their job!...I don't have the reference to hand but have used older heritage potatoes for this purpose on my allotment with great results, wherever there was a heritage potato, there was no bindweed! once you've weed wacked that knotweed get some blight susceptible potatoes & simply plant every few feet, don't worry too much about chitting them either.... there is something in the blight & potato that prevents Japanese Knotweed & regular bindweed from growing, & simply kills them deep in the earth at tiny root level, very similar to allium family or black walnut that puts out an inhibiting chemical that prevents other plants competing for food, worth a try for your Knotweed forest for a few spuds, you can still eat them afterwards so catch crop! Yeah 🎉💚..search organic non chemical options for them both, the references are out there! ..good luck with your homestead, hope you all have a good summer 🌤🌼🐝💚warmest greetings from a Yorkshire permaculture beekeeper in the uk 🇬🇧 💚🐝🌈🌼🌤

Do you plan on adding like a 30k gallon water tank in the near future or something similar to hold water for you all from this source? I thin from the tank you can lead onto some kind of filtration system that will help. Then feed that into your home. I am not an expert, but i have been researching a lot of this to do it for our home for rain water.

A friend had the water go into a underground tote and out in a county pipe. But your hoses should be buried underground so it will not freeze in the winter.
