Is it me, or would this have worked out better if the cars were not brand-new 1950's vehicles, but 1950's era hot rods, like a fenderless 1932 Ford with an exposed 1948 Ford flat head V8 all chromed up, Bootlegger cars, like a stock 1940 Ford witha 1949 Caddillac OHV V8, or kustoms, like the chopped and channeled Aztec, or even sports cars of the era, like the 1953 Corvette, Jaguars Muntz, Crosley or MG's? - sure, you can have the stock 1950's "Factory" cars in the background as regular mom and pop cars on the streets, but for our heroes, they have the "Need for Speed", so driving cars on the road that travel at the same speed as everything else on the road doesn't make sense.
