I started doing the same things to my car! To help with rwd, the front also has a shaft that makes the front wheels the same speed (like an lsd) but I removed it and it makes drifting easier without having to do an angle mod! And adding a few layers of electrical tape to all the tires helps with the grip problem.. only thing I had to do that I didnt like was cut the frame to let the wheels steer easier (because its slammed to the floor)!! I hope you can try this out and make a video!! Have fun y'all!! It's almost at a competitive level for under $40 it's insane how good these platforms are for beginners!!

I have the same Jada friend but I have Hans Mazda and I'm running a 7.4v 50c 2s lipo with the original Electronics in it but have now converted it to a brushless motor and esc with gyro for stability to make it a Racer/Drifter and added wheel hub extenders to it to be able to use Rubber and hard drift tires to its rc garage

One day I want to take a toy grade car like that and replace all the electronics with Traxxas stuff, like the circuit board and the controller and give it fully proportional steering, but leave the body and the steering mechanism and the drive shaft and the wheels on.

How has it been holding up, will the battery upgrade break the car over time?

currently power wheels motor swapping mine, but trying to work out the battery issue, it cuts off after about a minute of run time. Also mine was making a skipping/clicking sound straight out of the box, turns out it was the driveshaft rounding out the connection where it meets the rear gear. I make a upgraded solid lightweight driveshaft and gear reinforcement for these to fix that issue if anyone is interested.

Hey there! A bit of a follow up to my previous comment on the project that involved these drift cars. Today I went out and bought two cars, and I was out for a good hour or so driving them around on concrete. (They both had a flip or two) and on all four have experienced damage to the wheel hubs. Is there a good way to upgrade the wheel connections so that it can handle rougher play? The main axel is attached to the screws, which seem to be holding up fine. The problem is that the metal is wearing out the plastic over time, so the wheel begins to rotate freely on the screws. Do you happen to know of any way that would help solve the problem (whether it's something you have to do regularly or a permanent fix.) This is totally not the way you're supposed to use the car, but I'd like to try and mod it into a heavier duty street car if I can. I had built a prototype R2-D2 that used the two cars, and it drove really well. I got all giddy seeing it move, but I'm worried about the longterm problems that may ensue. I was planning on making a 3D printed top panel that replaces the electronics cover, and would serve as the ankle attachment plate. That's useless however if the wheels wear out after a couple of drives. The single screw thing is on most cheap R/C cars, but I haven't been able to find anyone that has a good fix, if it's even possible without a rebuild. I'ma do this mod but with a battery withn spec it's a 12 volt rechargeable 1300 mah battery which is wayyy better than the stock gives me more power & more play time

What i did to my rc was i put a lipo battery on it then i got a rc car rubber tires and put them on my car your rc car normally it will go 10 mph now mine goes 25 mph try it

i made mine rwd and got some rubber tires for it and they work pretty good, they slip off a tad bit so i used super glue around the back and there fine
