The second tip that I have to share with you today about how to fast track your divorce ties into the first one, and that is comply with deadlines. If your attorney says, I need you to get this back to me by a certain date, make sure that you get it back to them by that certain date. A lot of times, if they're having you work on a financial affidavit or if they're having you gather discovery documents, There are specific rules that have to be followed.
The documents will have to be reviewed and processed especially the financial affidavits. The attorney will oftentimes have questions about that and propose changes based upon what you've put into the form. And then they're complying with deadlines. So it is important that you comply with the deadlines that your attorney sets for you.
If you don't get them documents on time, it can delay the case, it could cause additional court dates, it could cause issues with discovery sanctions, it gets really messy. So just make sure that if your attorney gives you a deadline that you comply with it. If you can't comply with it, tell them why, be upfront about that as soon as you possibly can so that they can try to get an extension or make other arrangements.
