The biggest bike test of the year… Ultimate Sports Bike 2021!
In association with Michelin.
Christmas comes but once a year, and the same has to be said for the world’s biggest and broadest sports bike test. Yes, it’s that time again, when we pitch the latest and greatest bullets against one another on road, on track, on proving ground and on the dyno. There can only be one winner, but who’s your money on?
Ducati Panigale V4SP
Honda CBR 1000RR-R SP
Suzuki GSX-R1000R
Kawasaki ZX-10R
Aprilia RSV4 Factory
BMW S1000RR M-Sport
Yamaha R1M
To get started, we took the bikes out to do battle on the roads!
Make sure to pick up the mag to for the full lowdown.
and there’s more…
Top trump triple
Triumph’s just released its ludicrous Speed Triple 1200RS, and we think its awesome. But we also rate the 1050RS that preceded it and has become even more affordable than ever. If you’re in the market for a used naked, make sure to check out our comprehensive used buyer’s guide on this epic model.

And considering the standard ninja you used is almost half the price of 3 of these bikes I think that should be taken into consideration of value for money.

You don't have to buy the SP model the S or the standard v4 will do the trick. I actually prefer the standard suspension instead of semi-active for the track riding anyway. I own a 2017 Tuono 1100 factory and I love it but honestly, Ducati bikes are much more special and better put together. And the biggest con for the Aprilia they just don't have the parts available worldwide and you can possibly wait for few months till you get the parts you need, which will be a big issue especially if you're planning to make it a track bike.
@Jay-yg8jj
@Jay-yg8jj 2 жыл бұрын
First things first, the Aprilia SMACKS the Duck on track. Last track test I saw it was over half a second faster per lap, and that's being down on claimed power AND heavier. Ape is 100% the way to go for track days. Same way the Tuono smacks the V4 Streetfighter in handling and power til 10k rpm
@Fearless154
@Fearless154 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jay-yg8jj Depends on who you ask, Stock trim rsv4 1100 is easier to ride fast and make better lap times, but the Panigale v4 2020+ model is a far more capable bike with higher potential, the electronics are much better on Ducati, and that the v4r chassis is a far better one. About Tuono vs SF v4 like legit in any track test from MCN to 44 teeth, SF4 was a much faster bike on the track but Tuono is nicer on the street because of its torquey nature but SF v4 torque delivery is highly restricted in the first 2 gears, flashed SF v4 feels just as torquey but with much higher top-end power.

People are actually crazy passionate and do this . Even i don't get the point now. I'm just 21 (yes i think that's young), and I've ridden R1,CBR1000RRR-SP, ZH2, Ducati Panigale V4, Daytona 675r, R6, Ninja ZX 10, ninja Zx6, Ninja 300, RE 350,Himalayan,650s, t100, and speed triple, i had owned a R1, but sold it for other reasons and investments, and got a cycle instead of the bike, and now i am looking forward to getting a Trident 660 , or the Triumph Speed triple, cuz even after riding all i have ridden, ( even been to track a few times) is that no matter what, 200hp is not needed , and all these bikes are great, these 200hp r1s , Panigales, e.t.c, are pretty useless from ergonomics, useless low end, in the street what i suggest is the street triple, or the speed triple . Cuz : Such a beautiful sound , the exhaust sound changes as the rev increases , from sophisticated in the low to the roaring in the high , Mechanically (a mechanical engineer here) , and as a bike enthusiast, 3 Cyls are the best when it comes to power delivery, low end torque + top end rush , and due to triumphs T-plane crankshaft (perfect secondary balance) this thing revs very high for a engine that size , and reaches redline quicker than any I4... I've plenty experience, owned an R1 (sold last year and got a cycle), r6, zx 10r, the busa, Zh2, RSV4, panigale, cbr 1000, and z900 , daytona 675, street triple 675RS, (owned all these for a while and traded these ) RE bikes,and what not , but i find three cyls the best among inline 4s and 2s (Vs are better ). (Except some radicals i4s ). Everybody has to return to relaxed riding.

I love " who signed off on that? ", great point indeed. Engine heat, and how much of it cooks the rider, was never mentioned in this review. This critical assessment, within the comfort category, has to be included if your are ranking "sport bikes on the road". After years of roasting my nuts on superbikes with undertail exhausts, I had enough. That's why the 2018 GSXR1000 is my current ride. In addition to having a stellar front end, potent torque everywhere, and comfortable ergonomics, IT RUNS COOL. Trust me. When it's not too hot to ride, but it is too hot to ride THAT bike, ....it gets old real quick.

I do have to disagree with this list. I work at a motorcycle dealership and i can give my two cents. 1. Everyday riding is about the heat of the engine, brakes bite, suspension comfort, leaning forward on the handlebars, and the controls such as the TFT screen and so on. If you have ridden in traffic and around town, than you would understand. The everyday rider does not hit corners everytime they ride. The Ducati cannot be the winner. It is hot to the touch everytime you ride it, suspension is firm, you are leaning to far forward compared to the others, you wasted more gas as well. No one can actually ride this bike everyday. Its too much. You guys were a little biased with this test.

I think value for money should of been part of this. Most people don't have or want to spend 30-40 k on a bike, it doesn't matter how good it looks or sounds, it comes down to value, confort and all around usability for a road test. Looks and performance only matter on a personal budget.
@rampage3337

no performance matters on all budgets. yes there is a limit to how much people want to spend but people who buy the cheapest shit are idiots. it's as dumb as the retards who go buy a brand new Dacia duster instead of a used car. if you are gonna get something new you better actually invest in something that is more special or you are better of just going with a used bike. that is the problem with the Suzuki that it's priced high enough to where you are better of getting a used bike rather than just waste money on something that is not up to standard just so you can have a brand new bike.

@@p.chakraborty4453 Me too like you i had an interesting beginning as a young rider, my beginner bike was a ZZR1400 but i found it little a bit slow, so i switched to a 499hp Hayabusa Turbo to do wheelies at 354kmh, i also bought a 600hp Boss Hoss with the V10 Viper motor as an easy Beginner cruiser, then i also bought a Ducati Desmosedici (those were the years i beat Rossi on race tracks with it), a few years ago i got a call from my pal Keanu Reeves and he asked if i want to buy one of his Arch motor bikes so i went to the USA tested the 3 models and bought the Arch Method 143 (cool bike), last year i made a 100000 mile trip with my Africa Twin (14000 miles of it were in the Antarctica and also a 2 month survival trip in the Sahara desert without food or water in the luggage cases, had to find all on the spot in the desert), this year i finally received my Ducati Superleggera V4 (with it i made 4 unofficial world records on race tracks and also on pikes peak and Paris Dakar record run). I also sold my Desmosedici to invest in Bitcoin a few years ago (the bitcoins are now worth 32 million USD). You see i too like you had a similar life, with a bit less bikes but a bit more adventure and with more world records even if they are unofficial,

Dream bike would be the Ducati but the everyday bike it would be the Suzuki. Great Video!!

A bit unfair to put a numbered limited edition bike up against the rest. I wonder how the V4 Panigale S would have done against the Aprilia. That’s a more realistic comparison.

You expected this review to be fair? LOL, they are paid to sell bikes, not tell you the truth about them.

With compulsory speed limiters and data loggers arriving next summer - only for new cars and light commercial vehicles at first - anyone wanting one of these should buy now.
