Hi Chris, Just wanted to reach out and thank you for this video; with your help I successfully unlocked and rooted my N5 this morning despite still being fairly novice. You made it very easy, although I was slightly confused by what you did to get the Device Manager entry to appear when booting into Recovery at 3:44, as mine didn't come up at first. But I didn't yet have a custom recovery installed at that point (I was unlocking with the intent of flashing TWRP). After installing TWRP through fastboot and booting into it, the Device Manager entry appeared and everything continued on exactly as in the video. Is this normal for the stock recovery to not be recognized?

Has anyone ever gotten error 43 with the nexus 4 i dont got no os on my nexus 4 its stuck in recovery and fastboot mode, i uninstalled and reinstalled drivers tried different usb cords and ports and computers, i replaced the usb port on the nexus 4 and nothing still not recognized i still get error 43 its so frustrating and idk what to do someone please help me?

Hi Chris, Thanks for quick guidelines. I'm trying to follow steps provided by you, seems to be facing with issue "device not listed by hitting adb devices on cmd." I tried uninstalling and installing sdk again , after installation, got the pop-up "Java Home path doesn't point to a valid JVM installation" I've set Java home path as "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin". In Device manage I could see my device as "GT-I9300" in other devices. I'm confused what went wrong from my end? Could you please help? Developer option is enabled on device. Thanks, Shyamal

Hi Chris I am running into a minor issue could you help me out. When I went to update drivers i got an error 10 also in cmd I have adb is out of date.

My device doesn't even appear as an android when I connect it to my laptop windows 10 in bootloader mode. What shows up is unknown usb ...... In the usb serial bus section. And when I try to update driver manually on that anyway, says it's already has the best update.

i cant accsses my boot menu on phone, what should i do. it is showing batery charging if u plug it on pc or charger. if u try to turn it on it will show logo, gsmart and android, after 10 s it will lose android logo, and g smart will stay for 1 min and than it just shuts down

Hi Chris What could be the problem: I see my device when i use "Fastboot Devices" When I check my list of devices in my device manager, I see under Android Devices / Motorola Adb Interface (without any ! sign) When I try to see my device with "adb devices" I can't see anything... It's a phone hit by water, I can't use the screen (not working), the USB Debug option is disabled I try to recover my pictures with the "adb pull" command. Thanks a lot

@chris nacca. The install went fine but when I type adb devices in recovery (i use TWRP) it says List of devices attached 064a700f0acd84a3 device So not recovery at the end?? So adb thinks i'm not in recovery mode. Also when I reboot twrp (in twrp), windows doesn't recognise my nexus 5 at all, but when I pull the usb plug and put it back in it recognizes it again (but not recovery mode, just device mode) Any solution?

Yeah didnt work for me, installed it and well adb nor fastboot show up in windows folder and it didnt automatically install the fastboot drivers for my phone while it was plugged up. So dont know what to do. Cant seem to get the drivers to work vs980 lg g2
