I have a tendency to repeatedly think to myself "I'm so anxious right now!" right before I'm going to leave my home (I have agoraphobia), but for the past few weeks I've replaced it with "I'm excited!" and it has helped me so much. It makes me less bothered about the anxiety symptoms, when I think of it as just being excited about experiencing new things instead of being bored at home all day.

What I sometimes do is, whenever I come home after a long day and let’s say I got bullied, had issues with the boss, staff or drivers. I like to go online and start spreading random acts of kindness to other people such as sending a nice message, giving shoutouts and making others feel good. I also do a bit of meditating to help clear the head of bad energy.

Thank you Dennis. I’ve been suffering from severe anxiety and panic attacks for a few years now and never knew how to conquer it. I tried so many different medications that only made this worse and I feel like I’ve made more progress in the last few days just by listening to your podcast and KZfaq channel than I have in years of meds. Now, instead of saying “My past was traumatic” I will be saying “My past has given me opportunities to be a better husband/father/person today” I am not a victim. I am more than anxiety. Thank you again.

Was a binge drinker with a terrible diet. Bottom line is that I had to make changes because I was diagnosed with fatty liver. No longer drink alcohol, soda, nor do I eat fast food. I drink a lot more water and eat more of a low fat, plant based diet. Sadly, anxiety and depression have come to rule the roost. The globus sensation in my throat bothers me at times. WOW!!! This hit me on so many levels-many “lightbulb moments!! I am writing many of these 10 things down and keeping them with me to re-read! I did, as many of us, have past traumas. In the early stages of realizing this, I was angry and mad at those people/situations, but one thing I learned early on to do, was to forgive those people (not easy to being raped at knifepoint-point), and also to forgive myself. I am so glad I used that excuse for a short period of time (about 3 months) for “why I can’t get better.” Looking at this whole thing as an opportunity-another great change! So many of these 10 things really gave me clarity and ways to reframe thoughts. Thank you, Dennis!! Blessings to all 🙏🏽♥️

When you say “you create your negative” I believe that it would be more accurate if you’d say individuals have been created to have such thoughts. Like you say, people were not born negative. In reality, people become CONDITIONED to be negative. Often people, like myself, don’t realize these things even occur, as they are so automatic. Great message overall! Great work! Please keep it up 👍

WOW. I've spent so many years reenforcing the thought "I'm always tired" to the point where Ive honestly felt I may never experience what true vitality is... I also realize that I've made "Nobody understands me /ever will understand me" a core part of my personality; it is literally a part of who I think I am...... And the only thing these two thoughts can do is keep me locked in, and I dont want to push off facing myself and living life any more! Now I can work on replacing these thoughts whenever they come up, and even better than that, this video has really helped me feel less alone, and accept that if the thought "nobody understands me" is in this video, then I cant possibly be the only one who feels that way....so there actually ARE people out there who can relate and understand! What a concept :) I love how practical and honest your information is :) thanks so much for sharing this in a way that is digestible and left me feeling lighter and with more hope. There are other kinds of KZfaq videos that leave me feeling more weighed down with heaviness and more scattered in my head after watching/listening...so this was refreshing :) THANKS!

Rest assured that a lot of us feel misunderstood. And it's really great that you've become aware of these patterns because that is the most important part. This video opened up my eyes about how often I think that as well. I have found out that if I infuse a lot of conviction in what I am saying, and try to elaborate on it as patiently as I can, there are people out there who understand. Anyway wish you the best for your journey of life, and your comment truly made me feel less alone as well. :)

The one that resonated with me the most is im excited because actually your brain confuses anxiety and excitement for the same thi g and in that turn you can use this as an opportunity! Anxiety guy im so ready to change i appreciate the videos its challenging but very very possible

I have no energy...... that's me, recently. Feeling depressed about it. The new response to that is , "I'm overworked and overwhelmed". THANK YOU, DENNIS! Because of that simple mind switch... I feel I have an answer. Asb action I can take to turn that lethargy into peace and rejuvenation. .... I am heading off to vacation, with family , real soon. And I've been anxious about being a bummer to everyone's, and my own, fun. This video has helped me unlock my obsessive mind. I love you. And thank you for what you do!!

This was incredibly helpful, as I've had some of these thought patterns before and still do at times (although they're less frequent and severe than they used to be). Definitely going to apply these, thanks! I really appreciate it :D

I don’t necessarily tell myself to stop thinking about something, sometimes I will do positive affirmations. Like when I’m too focused on my breathing, I repeat in my mind “I trust my breathing” then I will focus on something else, and typically I will forget about breathing. Our body is connected to our thoughts, if you tell yourself bad things are gonna happen, well, bad things aren’t going to happen but you may experience symptoms that appear scary, but you don’t have to experience this. We can’t stop thinking, but we can steer it in the direction that brings us to a peaceful state of mind instead of being hectic.

Geez I almost have struggled with all of these, I'd like to start with the most challenging one that is my past experiences and when that pops up every other minute thank my past for teaching me. Thank my past experiences for the person I can Become, I have been lying to myself for way too long. Enough. I tell myself and others I need medication for anxiety, I realise I need to flip this narrative. Thanks for another inspiring video.

Started your program about a week ago. Love the health meditation as been unwell for for over 3 years and has really been helping. What I have a hard time with is the instant reaction and instant heart racing when I wake up after sleep. It happens so fast I can't seem to catch the thought process behind it. Once awake and this program is running, the cortisol and adrenaline have already been released into the system its then that the negative thoughts increase and worry starts that I haven't had enough sleep and it will cause more ill health and pain. Now all pumped up I never go back to sleep and lay there for hours in a state of fear purpectuating the situation. Only recently from new methods and using your program have I mananged to atleast some mornings turn the state of fear into a more calm state, however the adrenaline is still flowing around the body and I find that quite hard to deal with when I want to just sleep some more...

I definitely say “Be careful” to my daughter fairly often... and also many other instructions of “warning” because of my own anxieties of what might happen if I don’t. She’s a teenager now so she’s used to it, and we joke now that she’s older about my tendency to “over worry.” It has always made me feel better knowing I’ve told her what could happen if she wasn’t careful & how to best handle it if it did happen. My theory is my mother didn’t come close to doing that with me, and subsequently I was harmed more than once and never knew to speak up for myself, so it has made me hyper vigilant.

Your words and podcast are very informative and inspirational. I'm a drug addict 7 months clean. Anxiety is something I was always aware of but never knew how crippling it could be. I went to the doctors 4 weeks ago and she felt a lump in my throat and after that a switch just went off and since then have been having a very difficult time doing day to day stuff. I stumbled across your podcast shortly after this happened. I find it very helpful. I have slowly implemented things I have learned from listening to you, such as changing my diet, haven't done hard drugs in 7 months but also stopped smoking pot, writing in my journal everyday, getting myself motivated and putting myself in those situations that I've avoided for years. I can relate to all 10 of those ways of thinking and will now start implementing that as well. This has been the hardest time in my adult life but to know I'm not alone is extremely helpful and to know if I keep working hard and understand it will take time, patience, and persistence to conquer this. It's been 2 weeks of effort and slowly implementing other things! Slow and steady with progression everyday!

1. Instead of “be careful” replace it with “be aware” 2. You’ll hear “stop thinking about it” the brain doesn’t understand negation. Replace it with “start thinking about...the thing that your excited about” 3. “I’ve never done that” say “I’m curious about that” I can solve this, I can do this. 4. “I’m anxious” replace with “I’m excited about” to walk, for my transition, my progress. Perception is everything. 5. I’m a negative thinker... replace with my expectations in the past weren’t met. You came to this world as a blank slate. 6. “I have no energy” replace with “I’ve overwhelmed and i’ve over worked myself” with being the perfect husband, son.. 7. My past was traumatic...that is why I am the way I am. Replace with my past gave me opportunities to learn right from wrong. It helped me become who I am today. 8. I need that to be happy....truth is I want that to fill the empty void within. People do this trough food, people, etc. replace with “I want that” 9. People don’t understand me, replace with people have never experienced what I have.
