My sister fell asleep while driving n we went off highway in Canada. She overcorrected the 4wd suv trying to get back on highway cuz that’s what dad taught her (20 yrs before) we flipped as tires hit asphalt n rolled across two lanes of hwy n down the bank of opposite side. We are alive to share the tale because we had seatbelts in. Her escape was f’ed. The smell of burnt metal stayed with me for months. Wear ur seatbelts!

I'm a survivor of a front crash even worse than the first one here. If someone asks I can tell about the accident in more detail. Three and a half years ago me, my family and my parents' friend with his son, 7 people in total were going on a weekend trip. Around 10 PM we saw a car from the opposite direction going at us. We crashed almost frontally with relative speed of 220 km/h. From our car miraculously everyone survived without any major injuries, except for my mother who had her bowel ripped. We survived only because of our heavy car. The man who drove into us hit a tree, rolled over and fell out of his vehicle. He died instantly.

I seriously hope as a new driver you do not speed too fast on an upcoming 100 degree corner with a bare cliff awaiting. Oh wait, you slipped the wheels and locked the brakes... even with ABS your going sky diving. Not one of my happiest days, but survived after climbing back up 3000 feet. 915 meters. Yep. the seat belt absolutely scared me for life, still alive though.

How do they set these scenes up for this show i always wondered? The documentary is hardly made at the scene and it always shows "dramatisation". Isnt this a waste of resources? Surely the emergency personnell could be better used elsewhere rather than for the purposes of this documentary?

I hate it when people act like victims involved in motor vehicle crashes are lying. Sometimes, actually often times, they are not lying but giving their perception of the events. I have two examples. Once I ran a red light. My husband pointed out that the light was red and I insisted that it was green. My teenager in the back confirmed that it was indeed red. Obviously my perception was that it was green or I would not have gone through it. So if I was involved in a crash (alone in the vehicle), I would have told the police that the light was green. I wouldn't be lying, I would be telling the events the way I remember them. My second example is again I was in the vehicle with my husband and children and I turned into our church parking lot. As soon as I got into the lot my husband said "WOW THAT WAS CLOSE!" I said what was close? He said you turned right in front of that car, they barely missed hitting us. Apparently I was focused on looking into the lot to see which way to go for a parking spot that I failed to pay attention to the oncoming traffic that had the right of way. Again, if I was alone and in a crash, I probably wouldn't even have realized that I was the one who was in the wrong and turned before it was clear to do so.

Couldn't stomach this show. I'm a trained investigator as well and the way these "investigators" do their job on here isn't even close to reality. Especially that idiot detective from the prosecutors office in the second clip. If he was being accurate in his dramatazation, there is no way a case would have ever stuck. He definitely isn't a reconstructionist.

When you cross a street, you have to excercise reasonable care and cross at the proper sites. If you get hit and hurt/ killed as a pedestrian, it does not make the driver automatically guilty, even if he/ she has some alcohol in their system. Even if you are a minority and the driver has more money.

I feel like it's kinda messed up people get in trouble for reacting with basic human instinct of fight or flight. But then again someone is injured/dead.

wish they’d just cut out the 20 minutes of complete “blah blah blah” and b-roll that they put in just to make the “episode” longer 🙄🙄 i have it on 1.75x play and skip the episode forward probably about 7 times per episode. it could DEFINITELY all be condensed into 15-20 minutes instead of almost an hour, goodness.

I don’t think it’s entirely fair that men get longer sentences than women. For example 90 days for female while a decade for a man where he’d be rotting away in a cell.

How dare anyone drive at all in the dark with such poor lighting? I myself had in Sweden two penlights extra lights and two river lights extra lights plus 130 Watts H4 light! It guaranteed visibility of 1200 meters and since everyone else had at least as much, it did not matter if it was curves or hilltop - you were guaranteed to see if there was oncoming traffic, as they saw you! The art was to dazzle in time, which I was usually the first to do, but if the attendee did not immediately dazzle, I turned on the headlights again and let the attendee decide how dazzled he/she wanted to be but there was no way not to see absolutely EVERYTHING on the road and also be able to see if it was free to use the entire width of the road in the curves at night when you had seen if there was oncoming traffic! The danger was if something without light was there and that was why I only drove at maximum speed when I was alone in the car with a few exceptions...
