Wish Burton stayed but he's contributed an epic legacy to the band's vocals regardless so total respect with his decision. Heard the new guy Milo recently live - great fit into what vocals call for and he's definitely got it from here! The growls but also the grace.

The first metal album I ever bought was Transgression. I just can't imagine to hear someone else singing in Burton's place.

At this point, I've grown wise enough to not take sides in other's matters. It's only our place to judge at face value, and no matter the story, you can tell that Burton is done vocally. Anything past that is none of our business, but people keep asking anyway.

Funny how no one else is stepping forward to say the truth. People that discredit Dino just don't like him for whatever reason, and that's all they need. I've seen people blame Dino for absolutely tons of stuff he couldn't factually even have anything to do with at all. The guy has been judged really unfairly for years. The other guys in the band all brought in their share of conflicts, especially Burton, I'll just quote Christian Olde Wolbers on this "Burton is the real snake in that band, you have no idea."
@Salomon_G8 ай бұрын

I assure you Dino, you can always create a template for drums, but always allow drummers to apply their organic methodology, it will resonate well to the listener

Somewthing doesn't add up in Dino's story about not paying his healthcare in Canada because it's free. It's only free for Canadian citizens. You must have paid insurances otherwise it would be as expensive as in the US.

Clearly, most of you in the comments never saw Burton play live, don’t get me wrong, his studio vocals were incredible, (due to autotune), but if you ever hear some of his live concert vocals, they are terrible, kudos to Dino to carry on the Fear Factory name and get Milo in the front, I’ve seen them live and he sang incredibly, people need to move on and not hold on to the past.
@TehPearlheadf6 ай бұрын
The last shows with Burton before he left even had him perform autotune live. There's a reason the live shows with Milo have been more successful than the live shows with Burton before his departure

I'm interested to hear new FF material at some point but Milo copying Burton exactly, even down to onstage banter, is pretty uninspiring. Demanufacture/Obsolete album cycles were so fresh and interesting, but it certainly seems like a rehash at this point, without one of the major draws, an original harsh/clean vocal from the guy who basically invented it.

You can have a metal band without vocals. Try metal without guitars...
@ffreplica5154 ай бұрын
@@alextaunton3099 except that FF’s music has a lot to do with the vocal hooks Burton wrote. The new guy sounds like him, but can he write like him?
@alextaunton30994 ай бұрын
@@ffreplica515 bullshit. The music is primarily based around super tight guitar/drum combos with extensive start/stop patterns and rolls. The hooks are tbh Fear Factory's weakest point a lot of the time. Their strength lay in bone-crushing aggression and unheard-of synchronicity between drums and guitars usually reserved for tech death bands. Burton is not a bad vocalist, but his style isn't leagues ahead of the competition like the Cazares and Herrera combo. Tbh they make FF, not Burton. Vocal hooks define pop music, not metal
@ffreplica5154 ай бұрын
@@alextaunton3099 you’re right about the music, but what hooked all those metal noob kids was Burton’s choruses. That’s why so many bands ripped off the good cop bad cop vocals from them. FF were the first to do it. Agree to disagree I guess.

Vocals are the least important aspect of metal. Metal is loud guitars and aggressive drums. You can make metal without vocals... you can't make metal without guitars and drums except for niche acts that nobody takes seriously, like apocalyptica
