I’m typically not a fan of zombie films to begin with, but when I gave this movie a try it was mostly because I liked how the zombies looked/acted compared to traditional American zombie films And then the ending came and hit me like a dump truck lmao The last thing I expected was for a zombie movie to make me ball 😭😭

"You have no hope alone!" "You need NUMBERS in this situation!" "Every life we save if one less zombie to fight BITCH!" Exactly! Thank you! Omg, you've no idea how many times I've said the same thing watching movies like this (Seriously, I feel so validated right now lol). Humans are just better at surviving in groups, and ESPECIALLY in a zombie situation?? Like, y'know what happens to all those people you're sacrificing? THEY TURN INTO FUCKING ZOMBIES! EVERY PERSON YOU SACRIFICE IS DIRECTLY INCREASING THE THREAT TO YOUR OWN SURVIVAL!!! It is IN YOUR BEST INTEREST to save as many as possible, if only because more people saved DIRECTLY EQUALS less zombies trying to kill you! What'd'ya think is gonna happen after you've sacrificed everyone to "ensure your own survival" anyway? It's just gonna be YOU, surrounded by ZOMBIES, with NO ONE to watch your back! You're gonna have to SLEEP at some point asshole, y'know that right????? Anyway, this is one of my favorite movies too, and it was very fun to (kind of) rewatch it with you--thanks for another great time!

A not-so-naive KZfaq viewer is about to "board the train." Yep, when the Deer got back up, I was hooked. The roller coaster ride through Fear/Dread/Anger/Sorrow left me emotionally drained. I haven't seen "Parasite," and when that movie was in the theater, KZfaq recommended "Train To Busan." Back then I'd seen the likes of "Memories of Murder" (2003) and "Tae Guki Gi" (2004), so I thought "Train" would be easy peasy. But this film had me "by the throat" throughout, stomping on my hopes and expectations for the characters. Kudos to the writer, director, actors, and especially the stunt performers for creating a modern classic.

This movie right here is why I don't watch Korean horror anything lol it's too well done and too well-acted and the next thing I know, I'm crying AND shitting myself. Gong Yoo is my all-time favorite actor. If you want a movie that'll rip your heart out, I recommend Silenced. It's the only movie where at the end, I had to look up the child actors to make sure they were out there living their best lives. It's not fun horror like zombies and murderers, but it is based on true horrific events. VERY hard to watch, but Gong Yoo and all of his co-stars do an absolutely stunning job.

This film is so amazing, an incredibly well-told story, thanks for sharing a rewatch with us! I love all of the characters in it, even that egocentric jackass, and how it shows that good horror can invoke more emotions than just fear and dread. I enjoyed _Cargo_ with Martin Freeman too for that reason, not as intense but still a poignant ending. I've got _Seoul Station_ on one of my watchlists somewhere but haven't gotten around to it yet, I think it's supposed to be the initial outbreak events just before this one begins. And I'd wondered about _Kingdom_ so I'm glad you recommended it. Have you seen _The Host_ from Bong Joon-ho? It's a monster movie from 2006 that got me hooked on Korean films. Watched it again recently and I was surprised to spot Hershel at the beginning!

I’ve been meaning to see Cargo but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I def want to see the Host too! I remember hearing about it but haven’t gotten a chance to see it yet. I love when movies show how different people react to stress situations. Some people freeze, some fight, some show the worst of themselves, some people shine and many times it’s not the people we would expect that end up being the heroes.
