I got the orange fy08 for christmas its sick

@@motorheadaddictions2761 thanks I was going to choose grey but I heard it was painted on the outside to get a certain effect and this meant that scrapes and scratches showed up easily, but the blue and the orange were painted on the inside like most RCs to give extra protection.

@@fordy19 correct, the gray and blue are outside painted for the matte finish. After all the scrapes you can see the light thru from the inside, but not too noticeable from outside. Orange is a solid choice! These bodies are pretty strong too. Might pick up a spare one, think I found em for ~$40. Crashed mine in a speed run and it survived and protected the car. Just had to bend it back out. Better than the cheap bodies that obliterate in any impact.

Thanks for watching! To start I recommend 3s lipo, oil filled shocks, and the strap for the battery cage to keep secure. I did the arm pins and plate after my first crash, then added some weights to the chassis to reduce the rolling. Maybe wheels and tires next. Welcome to RCs, you'll have a blast!

@@lllcinematography Not the biggest fan of those either as I killed a couple of that style in crawlers. Here's a link to the heaviest driveshafts I use now for crawlers. Haven't thought to use em in the FY08, but a great idea. Just need to check if the length works for the FY08. They sell 2 lengths. @@lllcinematography A few have mentioned diff and driveshaft issues. Surprisingly mine have held up even with the up'd motor and 3s(I'm over volted with the 5900kv, but hasn't fried yet🤞) I did fry an esc overvolting my 144001 tho 😝

@@motorheadaddictions2761 Holy shit. That shaft might just work. Thanks! But I'm at the giving up stage. I just got a hsp 94111 pro lol. Sheyeet.... A world of difference. Four pins removal to access all innards and much more beefier everything. And with a 2s it's as fast as the fy08 with a 3s battery. And the 3s flattened the rear axle gears on the fy08 on mine. I spent more time repairing it than actually enjoying it. Bronto handles 10x better and doesn't roll. Maybe when the bad memories of the fy08 is long gone I'll try the shaft.

I love mine but it's not the best performer because it's rollover prone. My heart is in this one, no regrets. Parts are available because it shares most internals and upgrades with the FY03, wltoys 12428 series. These are proven to take a beating. The ZD Racing SC10 is also a good brushless SCT option for not much more.
