I am an 80 year old woman who loves music. I discovered Dan Vast about three weeks ago. I listen to him everyday sometime more than once. I still get goose bumps every time. I have watched many critiques on this performance. Let me say that none have been as heart felt as yours. You let him shine and you showed how it affected you in such a genuine way. I hadn't listened to music in 15 years. Depression had stolen my love for it. A girlfriend sent me amazing Grace. I didn't open it for about 4 days. But when I did, I was mesmerized. When he got to the part about bright shining as the sun. My tears flowed, my heart was full, my soul dropped to its knees and not only did I have a come back to God moment, my love for music was reborn. So, because I listen to something I didn't want to hear by somebody I had never heard of, on a day I was so bored I actually opened a music video, my life was changed. Now I am a huge fan of Mr Vasc and I can't get enough of music. Revisiting the old and discovering the new. I will say this, the reason my generation of bands are still around 40 and 50 years later it's because they made the best music ever. Daniel is a musical genius. He becomes the song he sings. Interestingly, he commented that after his faith grew stronger, he started to choose his covers more carefully - to try to convey to people only high-vibration emotions such as joy, gratitude and power. And, yes, he's classically trained and sings everything - from opera to Disney - but loves 80s brass.

I recently found about Dan Vasc from this same video. Watching someone else experiencing him singing Amazing Grace for the first time is phenomenal. He did a live chat and said his Dad had given him the harmonica for his 7th birthday. Sadly he lost his Dad to cancer. I read that this was his father's favorite hymn and he even uses the harmonica that his father gave him when he was 10. His father passed away in 2017. So yeah, Amazing Grace means something to him.

I’m a 70 year old woman who can’t listen to Dan’s rendition of Amazing Grace enough. The quality of his voice along with the obvious sincerity placed in each word makes me believe I can touch the face of God. I spent my 30’s and 40’s as a professional Christian singer and worked with some amazing musicians but NO ONE compares to what Dan does to this song!

He doesn't like touring, he is a totally independent artist, he has his own band and takes care of and works with his voice with extreme care - each recorded video takes him at least 3 days (1 for vocal exercises and warm-ups, 1 for recording with several taps and the third to remain completely silent, resting the vocal cords).
