Can you make these for a week or do they go bad after just a few days? Im curious since they contain milk & protein powder, which both tend to make the food go bad faster

If you add a grated carrot to this the extra moisture basically turns this into a brownie. Delicious! Just bake for about 5 minutes longer or just until you can poke a chopstick in and it comes out dry.

These come out absolutely amazing! What I can recommend as an added "bonus": mash up a ripe banana with a fork or your rubber spatula and put it in with the other ingredients. Also (when using Casein powder as your protein) I used 300g milk (1.5% low-fat milk) instead of 150g milk + water. I'm not sure if it's the mashed banana puree or the added milk that I used, but they came out wayyy creamier, more juicy and not as dry as the first time I tried them. Just a tip :)

beware, when you grind the oats to a powder or flour, it dramatically increases their glycemic index, ie will up your blood sugar greatly, which increased your glycemic load, which is the path to diabetes, so eat your oats in their whole natural form to keep your blood sugar low and even.

Awesome recipe--thanks Felu! Have made this a couple times now and have come up with my best version. It's mostly the same with some slight variation: - 1 mashed up ripe banana - 150g oats - 30g cocoa powder - 60g vanilla protein powder (I use Orgain vegan pea-protein blend powder, so it's not casein) - 50g peanut butter - 200g milk (I use whole or 2%) - 15g zero-calorie sweetener of choice, if desired, or to taste - pinch of salt Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Comes out moist and delicious, not dry at all. Adding the banana adds a touch of sweetness, and additional sweetener really makes it taste like a treat. The macros per serving (6 servings) comes out to be: 207cal, 10g protein, 29g carbs, 8g fat

Super yummy! I've been trying to make changes to this over the weekend to get them just how I want them, since mine came out a bit more dry than I like. Same basic recipe as in the video, using PB2 instead of peanut butter. (+ I soak the oats in 100g milk + 150g water in the fridge for an hour first, then add the remaining milk and the rest of ingredients (+ some sweetener). I then add a bunch of more water, until the consistency is a bit more runny than in the video - and I bake for only 20 minutes, instead of 25. The result (at least for me) is better, since it reminds me more of gooey brownies, while still being baked all the way through. I tried this a few weeks ago, but it was pretty bland. However, I dipped it in a zero sugar sweetened yogurt, and it was delicious. Alternatively, you could dip it in honey or maple syrup if you need more carbs. I made it again today and added 15 grams of raw sugar to the recipe, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. Eating this with a side of Greek yogurt is a great high protein snack.

Chocolate chips could help but someone mentioned bananas helped with the texture and sweetness.

Try this (I’ve been doing it for years, made it up myself): fill sauce pan of water turn burner on high, place a metal mixing bowl over the top (so the steam heats the bowl). Add 2 cup peanut butter, 1/4 natural honey, 1/4 natural organic maple syrup and 1/4 cup chocolate chips (chocolate chips are important for the binding and texture, not necessarily a taste thing). Mix that all together until blended then add 1 and 1/2 cups oats, mix until blended and press out in a 9”x9” pan with parchment paper. The recipe will yield a total of 4230 calories, 281 grams of fat, 147g of protein, 351g of carbs, and 64g of fiber. I split mine into 8 bars but you can use the total nutritional facts to figure out how many you want to divide it into. I purposely made these because I struggle to eat enough calories and put on weight. My recipe is gluten free, zero processed sugar (only “sugar” from natural honey and maple.) and there is no baking. Super easy super tasty, I store in fridge.

American measuring spoons, cups etc are done with our system. The clear liquid measuring cups have both metric and our version, but the grams, that's by weight, right? So you need a kitchen scale to measure everything? A scale that measures by metric?
@rajgoyal108
@rajgoyal108 2 жыл бұрын
@@recoveringsoul755 it might be convenient for you, but one pound is 453.592 grams, tell me sir, don't you need scale for measuring exact quantity if you live outside US and following American recipe? We in India have weight in ½ kg which 500 grams, 1 kg is 1000 grams. Everytime I have to google whenever I am following American recipe for the exact measurements.
@recoveringsoul755
@recoveringsoul755 2 жыл бұрын
@@rajgoyal108 American stores sell kitchen tools with American measurements on them, we don't have what you use. There is one type of cup to measure dry ingredients, not by weight but by how much space they take up. Wet ingredients are measured with different measuring cups. Even here, some people don't know that and use same cup for both wet and dry ingredients . Some ingredients are heavier than others so it seems easier to us to measure this way. Like a golf ball is dense and heavy, and a ping pong ball is hollow and light. Even if they are the same size, they would have different weight. I do have a kitchen scale, but only because I needed it for cake decorating. Most people don't have one, and i dont know if it does metric or not. Why don't your stores sell measuring tools to follow American recipes? Same problem.

@@Michelle-pn9xt - 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a recipe that makes 6 servings is perfectly fine. Remember that nuts are healthy fats…AND he gave you the option of PB2 instead of peanut butter. PB2 (and other brands of powdered peanut butter) have most of the fat removed and are higher in protein. Also cocoa powder is not unhealthy. There’s a huge difference between using cocoa powder to flavor something and eating a chocolate candy bar. 🤦‍♀️
