What I think is interesting is that a lot of women said bear because they do not trust men or fear them. And yet, Butker didn't just speak to the women in the audience. He spoke to the men about their responsibility towards family and society. But the same women who want men to be more responsible, less toxic, less "grapy" are the same women who are totally ignoring what he said about men. I doubt that most of them even know about that part of the speech even though it is just a few paragraphs later but instead of condemning him, they should be pointing out that part of his speech and saying "Yes, this is what we want from men." As for Pearl Davis, AOC, MTG and Rep. Crockett, I think they are all the same. Women who confuse rudeness with speaking one's mind or hostility and anger with strength. There isn't much we can do about Pearl Davis but the fact that this exchange with AOC, MTG and Rep. Crockett happened in committee for all to see just brings home just how poor the leadership is in Congress. Senior leaders act like children with constant "he said she said" or tearing up speeches or fear mongering or insults (and yes, I'm including Trump in all of this) so is it any surprise that junior representatives are going to act like this also. Like you said, they act like kindergartners and then wonder why so much of the populace have no faith in them.

Mother bears are dangerous, so you shouldn’t ever get to close to them…and I mean stay back like a couple of hundred yards and stay out of sight. But the most dangerous animal is one that is either injured or cornered…. Always leave a massive space for the animal to flee out of. Otherwise, you’re forcing that animal to FIGHT instead of flight.

Yes there are good men out here, but it doesn't change the fact that in many cases men are the perpetrators regardless if their victim is a man or a woman- also there is no way to know who the man exactly is. That's literally the gamble here in the question. If someone were to hold up a basket with a fresh batch of cookies and offer you one, but also warn you that there are a couple cookies that were poisoned, would you really take the chance and eat one? I don't want women to fear men, but I do want women to be cautious around men, much like how fathers warn their daughters about going out on their own late at night since it is known women on average are at a disadvantage when it comes to physical strength compared to men. Men shouldn't be getting angry or upset about this or just labeling it woke, instead they should be concerned and talk about why many women growing up are always warned about men, especially from their present fathers- this is worldwide.

As an avid hiker, bears are so predictable and I know how to deal with them when I come across them, and bear deaths are SO low compared to the murder and sexual assault rates. I’ll have bear spray on me, which I could use on either a man or bear- but if I use it on a man, I’ll be questioned. Nobody will ask me what I was doing to provoke the bear, or what if the bear was friendly and I’m just paranoid.

I was a homemaker for many years and I'm damn proud of it! Best years of my life. Raising 2 humans to be good people, functioning adults is a far more remarkable achievement than being a girl boss. I agree with you - however I think speech missed the mark considering he was talking to a group of people who just completed four years of academia. Being a mom/homemaker is a major, often overlooked role, but I was waiting for him to recognize women in the graduating class for their achievements and somehow tie the whole thing together into bettering the future. It just felt out of place since that connection was never made, even at a highly religious institution.

What we need is to somehow figure out how a young women can leave the workforce to raise her toddlers then be able to resume her career. Right now, male or female, if you don't go into your career immediately or if you have gap in your 20s, employers will often not consider you. Men can fair that better, as if he has kids, he doubles down on the career to support the household. Women need the option to pause a career.

I believe some important part is being omitted in this discussion. Some people are meant to have a spouse and some don't. It's not necessary the case of "being worthy" of marriage. I think in this instance, you have to look at the context and deeper meaning behind why Women might pick the bear, yes, TECHNICALLY you would rather be left with a man, however you have to understand that things are often more complex that they look. The fact that so many women would rather be left with a bear speaks to the pervasive fear that girls and women experience on a daily basis. Myself and many other girls have had to worry being raped, sexually assaulted or killed. Every single girl I know has been cat-called and most have been sexually assalted . One of my friends was sexually assaulted by her Uncle and someone who she thought was a friend. Men raping women is very common, and unlike being mauled by a bear it is also humiliating, degrading and on top of that women are often blamed for it. . I suggest even if you don't understand it, you try and empathize a little because this reaction is not due to womens inherent stupidity but rather due to the systemic violence towards women that is so common today. Yes, LOGICALLY it doesn't hold up, but it's hypothetical and you have to use a bit of critical thinking to understand WHY women might say it. If you look up the statistics, womens fear is FAR from ungrounded

The bear thing I understand, even as someone who has a somewhat irrational fear of bears. Off the top of my head I do know a few stories of women getting attacked or killed by bears (like a horrible attack just last summer in Yellowstone), but the reality is bear attacks are exceedingly rare. Sadly, I know far, far more stories of women traveling or hiking or jogging alone and meeting their end at the hand of an opportunistic stranger

The woman, however, is the neck of the family and can turn the head to keep it on the path. Like ship, you need a steer and a rudder. Misha- you'd mentioned "trauma dumping" in this upload. I felt compelled to respond, as sadly, I did this very thing (on YT only, I am registered on no other social media). What did I put out there ? The fact that I survived stage 3 colo-rectal cancer, only to discover my wife, of 12 years, stole A LOT of money from my family, as well as me. My world was upside down, I lost my car (financed it 3 months prior to being diagnosed...) was out of work (Covid closed my workplace) & couldn't return to work... And when I dumped that out there ? It was only to uplift others that were griping about one thing or other- to help them to recognize that their own problems always are lesser than other folks' problems- in that sort of vein.... And only with names I've seen in the messages section with some frequency- not just anyone out there. But I'd help a stranger in the same way I'd help my own family..... Ahem, dejá vü. I guess the ex knew that much about me, come to think of it ?!?! Lol 🚬😎👍

These women clearly haven't heard anything about bear attacks. Listen to a survivor sometime. "The worst the bear could do is kill me." No, the worst it could do is maul you until you're incapacitated and then start eating you while you're still alive. With a bear, you don't really stand a chance. I'll take the man any day. More likely to be a friendly guy than not. If not, at least I have options for survival.

Only just getting to this video. I love bears! I worked as a keeper and trainer for 1500 pound brown bears at an orphaned cub facility in Alaska and wrote a book and several articles about the true nature of bears. I'm proud to be a Misha Bear!
