A sister shares her story of losing her 47-year-old brother to fentanyl poisoning in this warning about the dangers of illicit fentanyl.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I knew ced since we were kids. I haven’t seen him in years as I was in prison. I seen him once since I was out and didn’t realize he was on any drugs. I didn’t know until I heard he passed. Sorry for your families loss. I don’t know anyone who would have anything bad to say about ced, he was truly a good man as long as I known him.

All I can say is thank you for sharing this story I needed this. My mom recently started doing 24 hour care for her father in law and I noticed some changes to my mom. It started with night time cold meds all day then Tylenol pm then cigs then weed then mushrooms then oxy and I’m afraid of what’s next. My mom thinks she doing a good job hiding this but because I’m so close to my mom I see what she thinks she’s hiding. I went to my dad and told him I feel the 24 hour care plus 5 kids is too much but all he say is she’s being extra or she being dramatic I’m not putting my father in a home she’ll be alright. I’m not sure why this video came across but I needed to hear this. I’m going to sit my mom down and really have a deep conversation I want to tell her I’m here And she no longer has to feel alone and how much myself and my siblings love and need her and we going to get her help and support her fully even if it means removing her out of that house. Caretaking is hard especially when the person can’t do anything on they own so please check on caregivers because they are busy caring for other people completely forgetting themselves. Before my father forced her to care for his father my mom wasn’t taking anything, smoking anything she was more of a natural herbs type. I’m so sorry for your loss 🙏🏽

As a former caregiver who was also forced into the role, your mom needs to get out now and get help she needs for herself. No, she's not being dramatic. The toll it has on her mental health is apparent. What most don't understand is it takes more than one person to provide care for an individual, no matter the age. - words from a current mental/behavioral health professional

Does your father help your mom take care of HIS father? Are there other family members who can help out ? This is way too much for your mom. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO FORCE SOMEONE TO BE A CAREGIVER ! Your mom is only one person and she needs time for herself and lots of help and support. Find out if home health is an option before your mom crashes and burns.

Im so sorry for you and your family. No one deserves this struggle with addiction. Thank you for sharing your brother's story with the world. It makes a difference. Saying that you wished you had expressed your love to him more will surely speak to the hearts of others also dealing with a loved one's addiction. There is a person apart from the addiction that still needs to hear, "I love you." My beloved brother died alone too so i understand that awful pain. Just know that your brother loved God and God and his Son Jesus were there to greet him and wipe away all the tears and heartache that addictions cause.

I am so sorry. My stepson died 4 years ago from Fentanyl and now my own biological son is in rehab for it. He is 22 years old and he used to just smoke weed so I don't even how this happened. My prayers are with your family please pray for my Geno. You remind me so much of my daughter who like you has never been addicted to anything so I am sending this to her. Thank you and God Bless your family and may Cedrick rest in peace. For anyone wondering I am not condoning weed but he started when he graduated high school and there's not much a parent can do to stop an adult child. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. It's like being a hamster on a wheel that you can never stop. I think most people reading this already understand though. I do plan on sharing this video with my son as well when he gets out so THANK YOU!!!

that is also my question, why do addicts start it anyway? I know it is hard to get out of it once you are already addicted but i wish someday i can understand why they took the 1st hit. Peer pressure? And when you die from addiction, the so-called peers won't even care to go to your funeral?

@@RashetaCannon The worldly bit of me grieves for all the family. Sspititually, I give thanks. As soon as you said Cedric joined the prayer call (where 2 or more are gathered together) and then said he read psalm 91, my heart knew. My mortal mind thought, “ Oh Cedric, what have you done!” My spirit knew he’d be released, knew he’d soon join his mama. I know from experience (I’m 78) God is efficient. 3 days - the time Jesus was in the tomb - is average. Cedric came to God in his youth. God was aware & attentive to him. He was never really alone, not even through death. Now he’s with his mother. Fentanyl is evil. But God can use ANYTHING for good & glory. It is sad that you won’t see Cedric mortally anymore. That’s hard - a challenge. But you WILL see him with your mom & your God soon; and that reunion will be forever.
