Couldn’t have spoken the truth any better than that. I lost my son a couple years ago to fentanyl poisoning. He left behind two children are grieving mother and grieving siblings that will never get over it the United States/government is not, and has not been taken the fentanyl crisis seriously or it wouldn’t be what it is my heart goes out to this family, and all the other families that suffer from losing a loved one from this poison

My 29 year old daughter called me crying a few days ago. One of her friends died from Fentanyl poisoning & she was devastated. A whole generation are dying every year.

This comment made me think about a clip that was recently going around of Jelly Roll speaking to congress about this topic. He said something about the amount of deaths that happen every day from fentanyl would be equivalent to a jet crashing and imagine the outrage that would cause yet here we are, still battling this epidemic year after year. The thing that makes these FACTS even worse is that I don’t see it stopping or even just simply slowing down any time soon. 🥴

Yeah it’s heartbreaking that so many people aren’t getting a second chance after overdosing from fentanyl, so they can learn that it’s out there. I have to admit I didn’t really know how bad it was until around 2022 and he died in 2021.

A very young-looking guy(21 y/o), from Wamego, KS, named McKaine Farr was sentenced to "more than 13 years" for Jayson's death and is going to trial for another Fentanyl death, as well. So...he should be spending a good amount of time behind bars for selling these fentanyl-laced drugs(that he admits he knew about!)@@lindaamey3966

The husband of a friend of mine sells weed. His wife suggested I try it because she said it would help pain from rheumatoid arthritis. I had not been a user of weed in the past, but I thought it was harmless. He sold me a small amount. I tried to smoke it but kept coughing, so I had the idea of putting some in a 500 mg capsule that I had gotten for vitamin supplements. Not very long after that I was losing consciousness and laid down quickly in bed. It was early in the afternoon. I woke up almost 24 hours later. I told both of them what had happened. Her husband's reaction was, "It must have been good." Whatever happened to me, it wasn't weed that did it.

@@HeleneLouise You used way, way too much. It is much easier to overdose on marijuana if yoy use edibles. Here’s some information from GoodRx : What’s the difference between inhaling THC and eating an edible with THC in it? Inhaling THC means smoking, vaping, or otherwise breathing it in. An “edible” is something you can eat or swallow that has THC in it, such as a brownie, gummy, or capsule. Inhaled THC can kick in within minutes, and usually wears off after 2 to 3 hours. But edible THC can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to kick in. In fact, it may take up to 4 hours for you to feel the full effects of some edibles. The effects of cannabis edibles also last longer - up to 12 hours. The reason for the time difference is due to how cannabis is absorbed. When you inhale it, the active ingredients are absorbed through the lungs directly into the bloodstream, then to the brain. When you eat cannabis, it has to go through your digestive system and get processed by the liver before it enters the bloodstream and reaches your brain, which takes longer. There’s also a difference in how you’ll feel based on how you consume cannabis. Even if an inhaled cannabis product and an edible cannabis product contain the same amount of THC, the edible can still cause a stronger high. That’s because when you eat or drink THC, your liver processes it and converts it into a molecule called 11-hydroxy THC. This form of THC is stronger and more intoxicating when it reaches your brain. An upside of edibles is that they don’t expose you to cannabis smoke or vapor, which may contain toxic chemicals that can harm your lungs. And inhaling cannabis may be more likely to lead to substance misuse because of how quickly THC enters the brain. We need to go low and slow when you are first using marijuana or anything for that matter. It’s too bad that you had such a bad experience because now you probably are afraid to try it and use it in a way that you should, which would be to use nothing near the amount you used. Some people get good pain relief from marijuana. I have been not too, but other people sure do. I go to pain management physician, and I am on morphine for my pain. I have also used Kratom for pain relief in the past. I inadvertently used too much and was laid out something similar to what you were from the marijuana. But I continued on with it. I just learned to take a little bit at a time. If I were you, I’d try it again, because if this is someone, you actually know, I would highly doubt they would spike your drug, especially if they grow with themselves .

They know but they don’t care or think it will happen to them. Our society sends mixed messages, we decriminalize some substances which are known gateway substances and then act surprised when people move on to harder drugs. Zero tolerance is the only sane approach

That's horrible. They should let older people vape and smoke in a designated area. I mean, seriously...they are elderly and should be able to enjoy whatever they want. I can see why it should be banned in their rooms/apartments, but there should be a designated place for them to smoke.

Am a newly retired provider in TN. It surprises me that he was prescribed opiates in the first place for carpal tunnel syndrome. My guess is that he was intentionally left to wait in the urgent care. RIP.

All the pills are being made by cartels. Believe it or not a lot of addicts will seek out fentanyl. Fentanyl is cheap so the cartels make lots of $$ on it.

But, like she told me a few times by now, she will use me as an interpreter and I will happily do so 👍 If I remember correctly we Germans (or people from Europe in general) are allowed to be in the US for 90 days with a normal tourist visa. And we often spoke about it and plan to be in the US for at least two months, so that we could have time to visit the States and enjoy it and that we won‘t have to rush. And our two sons are now old enough to remember such a trip and our older son is really enjoying the English lessons in school.
