By talking about having a genuine motive you up the level of suspicion in there eyes and potentially in a judges eyes, so watch your language that you use with them. Also buy telling them that they can detain you and search you its almost like you are giving them permission. You need to tell them what you are doing ie photographing and videoing and then walk away from them. If they try to stop you or give you any hassle then you have a clear claim against them and it will increase the number of things you can claim for. If they are going to detain you as they can't decide on an offence then its not a detainment and you can walk off. They have to give you the actual offence you are suspected of. The office saying he is not doing his duty if he lets you go so will arrest you is not doing his duty in detaining you a member of public obeying the law. Needs firing and made an example to the other officers that stood buy like idiots, but we all know he'll get a pat on the back and a promotion, so the only option is a civil claim against him. Big fail handing over your details, turning off the recording and not defending yourself against the officers.

The officer with all the dirty gang tattoos clearly didnt know the law and was out of order. Why did he keep saluting ? , hope you are ok , usually when they get the camera off your in real danger of a beating, those are usually the most corrupt ones that tell you to turn off the phone. Did you give details? How did it go down in the end? Sometimes you may have to concead dependant on circumstance but you would still have a civil case as it was under threat of arrest which is unlawful.
