FF7 Crisis Core Reunion DMW System Explained!

The DMW system is an integral part of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion. Understanding what it is and how it works will go a long way to maximising your enjoyment when playing the game.
Hopefully, my guide will serve as a helpful introduction to the DMW, or Digital Mind Wave.

How do you raise the limit gauge from normal to sky high and heavenly? The in game tutorial couldn't be more vague about it and I haven't gotten concrete answers from anything I've looked up

Just fight, everytime you get a limit prompt, ignore it, because using a limit rolls it back to low

Hey bud, long time FF fan here, but never did get my hands on a PSP as a young'un. I recently got a PS5 and so have been smashing this game! Thanks for the detailed explanation of what is a relatively confusing system. I'd picked up a few things, but this has really tied it all in together

Hi Simon hope you and your family had a good Christmas, luckily I did get some money over the Christmas period and tomorrow im going to buy this for the PS4 I have got it for the psp and completed it fully including the side missions, even through some were incredibly difficult

i actually kinda liked the modulation phase it brought something cinematic to the fights that were mostly boring though i do agree that it happened a lot.

Thanks for covering the absence of Modulating Phase. In the OG Crisis Core, when you saw a cutscene/flashback with a character, that said character's limit break was then much more likely to occur. Not sure if you're saying that they changed this for CC Reunion or not.

I'm aiming to get Genesis, Cloud, And Sepriroth to 100 percent they are the only ones that need to level up to do their gauge need to hit Three times in Heavenly to go up?

Modulating Phase is missing, was a great moment when you knew you might get the limit break or summon.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you know you have a limit break available? In the original crisis core, it activated automatically, in this you choose when to activate (I like this idea). But is it obvious you have a limit break, or do you have to watch the reels? (Do the reels become larger in size? Is there any difference between the reels normally versus when you have a limit break available?) It is not very clear in this video, though the explanation of the reels itself is excellent.

When you get a limit break, it gets "stored" -- you see it on 4:55 where Angeal's limit break get stored and you can use it with Triangle.

Idk why but my chance of getting a limit has been stuck on Low for the last little while and idk how to increase it 😐

if you have access to the shinra building, you can drink the free potion from one of the female npcs on the first floor which will reset it to normal if not, your only bet is to hope you get either lvl5 Rush Assault/Megaflare/Exaflare, or cissnei's Lucky Star limit break since those raise the gauge naturally

I think the dmw is a little bugged ATM, it hits 2 same numbers and my matiria in that slot don't level up even though it's not max level and sometimes it does level up

I found a nice glitch. If you equip a HP, MP, or AP boosting accessory at a save point and then unequip it and exit the equip screen, you will keep the stat buff eventhough the accessory isn't on anymore.
