don't worry guys! DAB plus it's coming out soon which is much better sound wise, reception wise and above all, power consumption. But with the rise of Wi-Fi and other technologies, there will be a lot more choice with regards to in car entertainment and picking up radio stations.

Get a dab headunit, a wiring loom for your car so steering wheel/stalk controls work the the dab, which considering the amount of stations! you will want that convenience. Sticking stuff on the windscreens and wires all over the place... NOPE. New unit gave me mp3/flac/ipod/bluetooth/Dab+ and stronger built in amp. Even Seri works.

What with bluetooth in-car systems and add-ons, plus far more individuals phones storing music whilst streaming it via bluetooth connectivity - DAB and indeed radio in general is fast losing its appeal!

FM signals are getting weak

Fifth gear please get your facts right. Web streaming is available right now in cars. Smart-phone + wire or blue-tooth and with a decent 3G signal job done. I get 1000's of "stations" from all around the world and it cost me no more than my phone and a simple photo adaptor. FM was great and DAB is good, but it's certainly not cutting edge now is it?

DAB - The answer to a question nobody asked...

American AM Stereo was a great idea, and crappy implementation (see the Japanese posting of an airheck here ... The Japanese, again, know how do do it). American FM digital ("HD Radio") again is a decent idea, and a crappy implementation. And now countries want to turn off analog, and orphan billions of radios? Yeah, well, vinyl hasn't gone away, has it? How do you say over there ... "bollocks!" We Americans prefer the phrase "bullshit!" :)

@DJzSith by asking that I presume you live in a third world country with no radio stations at all, such as Uganda, or Sri Lanka.

I think DAB is useless. I've that fitted to my car, and never used the radio, just plug the ipod and ready to go. I think you need the radio if you don't have sat nav to know about accident, traffic, etc., but if you're on your way to work or whatever you have already chose a route that is more pratical to you and you don't want to go "1000 miles" just to avoid what's ahead of you.

I wont use this if its not completely wireless.

i dont want digital radio, why, normal radio is fine and thousands of cars will either need crappy wires or a modified dash which looks shit. i don't want the switch over do you?

Well you know what you can do with bullshy british radio... just gimme a PC, amplifier, 2 way cross axial mount speakers in the front doors and a plastic cap to cover the antenna hole on the car so it don't rust!

Radio active , you wouldn't be able to listen to your crap music if weren't for radio, opps I forgot you probably get music from the clouds put into a app . And I'm sure you don't have to plug in a aux lead to listen to music, there called speckers.lol.. try gold FM.
