Have you been keeping up with the search for the new host of Jeopardy? I've loved seeing all the different guest hosts. When they said they found a new host, I was surprised at the choice... less surprised when it fell through. I think the people behind Jeopardy need to broaden their horizons with who they are considering. I think they should consider me. Hear me out! I think it is time for the old school Jeopardy to embrace new media and I think I have a strong case on how to do just that. Jeopardy, let's talk.

@@kristinbenton9340 Well, traditionally hosts of game, reality and talk shows are expected to look and be 30-50 years old. While yes, Matthew is somewhere around 35, his look is similar to somebody in the mid 20s.

I love your energy, and I think you'd make a wonderful host. I'd love to see Michael Stevens, or Veritasium as potential hosts as well. There is a few blinding downsides however; firstly that would mean you or the respective host would no longer be producing your original content to which you all have millions of beloved viewers. Secondly, I would hate to see the drama, fallout and scandals the haters would levy against a potential new host. I love all that you guys produce, and the backlash of a community who would scrutinize you would devestate me.

Oh absolutely. If he had a worldwide audience the drama would get so much worse. Can you imagine the attack helicopter joke scandal on a nationwide scale? It would be chaos; especially since 99% of everyone watching the show has no idea of the context behind it.

I think Tom Scott would be the perfect combination of being acceptable for older and more traditional viewers, and being internet literate. Also he's made like four separate game shows himself, so he obviously knows what he's doing and likes it

I would literally make my flash cards for school in a Jeapordy format and it helped SO MUCH. And I had teachers who would use Jeapordy as a review game and it rocked!

7:08 When MatPat explains that he "looked up to Alex", and "no matter how crazy his life got he was a constant" that really resonated with me and probably a lot of other viewers who feel the exact same about MatPat and many other KZfaqrs who were always here, making content to brighten up our day just like Alex Trebek was there for MatPat.

Out of everyone mentioned Michael makes the most sense and I have a feeling he's more of the presentation style that Jeopardy might be looking for. He has all the qualities that Matt listed while also being a seemingly cerebral person who can be stoic at times. Also he can probably rock a mustache if needed. I think that serious and scientific presentation style would bridge the gap and garner respect from the older audiences wile also bringing in his KZfaq following.

You've been my favorite youtuber for the past almost half a decade (I started watching Game Theory around 2019 ish) and still doing today. I already really love a lot of the candidates brought up, and Michael Stevens was actually one of the people I thought of first that would make one of the top three candidates I would love to see the most as host. But then seeing CGP Grey as a candidate surprised me. I love their videos, but didn't know they were super well known.

I think TikTok was pushing for Hank, but he said he’s very much not interested at this time in his life. Apparently he was once approached to be a game show host for something else and he said no because he wants to stay in Montana

Alright, I'm hopping on the Hire MatPat train. To his point about appealing to Gen Z but still being in touch with older generations - He is PERFECT for that. His communication is outstanding in how engaging and enthusiastic it is AND while yes his usual content of film/gaming is sort of niche - it's not SO niche that it makes Grandma go "who is this guy?" I loved that he covered the topic in this video AND used it as an opportunity to promote himself for the position - WITHOUT tearing anyone else down - also suggesting them as hosts. Honestly, a perfect Jeopardy for me would be him as the main host with like a Friday guest host or something like GMM or Marques or whoever. Sony should definitely keep this awesome guy in mind!

If MatPat became the host of jeopardy it’s gonna get tough doing his KZfaq channels. Micheal from Vsauce would however make a pretty good host since almost everyone knows him due to him becoming a meme.

True although I don't think Matt would have the time to do so, I think Rhett and Link should double host jeopardy because they have a lot of time on there hands. They have there own channel and run a business and they still seem to have a lot of time on their hands.

Honestly, I've never been one to sign petitions or take part in group funding and surprisingly this will be the first petition I've ever signed. This petition definitely deserve to get as many signatures as it desires. I do have to say, that regardless of digital Creator or regular celebrities, my top three are all KZfaq creators. You, Kyle from because science, or Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning as co-hosts would be best for the job in my opinion. Good luck!

I do agree that many KZfaqrs, including yourself, would probably be great for Jeopardy. However, it would take a lot of your time away from the channels, so there would be less stuff here. On the flip side, I recognize that people's careers change over time, so you and other KZfaqrs will probably eventually move on to other things. I would be excited if a KZfaqr became host of Jeopardy. My grandma and mom who watch the show daily would probably have no idea who the new person is though.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if a lot of KZfaqrs want to jump into being potentially micromanaged by studios. A lot of them like their autonomy. However, KZfaq isn't a great place for content anymore. Who knows.

Personally? Id say let him spend his time with it. He deserves it. If he got the job and had to quit tomorrow id miss the show but id watch more jeopardy. And honestly, what a great reason to stop making videos. Something like that you don't turn down without some serious soul searching.

Could be they film a whole weeks worth of shows in one day though so it'd be a day a week for him. Plus he can do his voice overs for videos between takes if he needs to

@@Portal64 Yeah, they film like a week's worth or more in a day. I want to say I heard that Trebek was so in a groove with it that they could pump out a month's worth in two days. That'd be roughly 10 episodes a day and then you're free the rest of the month. EDIT: Turns out I had to that doubled, so they can get 10 episodes filmed in 2 days. That would be roughly 23 weeks out of the years as well.

And they could roast each other at the start and end of each week like on Monday "I know my brother did a crappy job of hosting last week, but I'm here now." Or on Friday, "Let's see if my brother can live up to this next week."

I can tell how excited MatPat is with the idea of hosting Jeopardy by how fast he talks in this vid. LOL And you know what? I'm mostly on board with that! My only caveat is that I'll be sad at the loss of MatPat on KZfaq because he won't have time to do both. That aside, LeVar Burton also gets a win from me.
