The best moments of this movie is when Rooster, who is a Top Gun Academy graduate, just sits back with his arms flailing around & his mouth open when Maverick puts the old F-14 war bird through it’s paces…speaks volumes about Maverick’s capabilities as a fighter pilot.

Hangman thinking he's good when he used a 5th gen fighter with 6th gen weaponry downed an su57 but in reality mav is a god 4th gen fighter with possible 3rd gen weaponry downs 2 su57s

Uh….F18 Super Hornet is in no way a 5th Gen Fighter. A phenomenal jack of all trades multi purpose fighter, but it’s a legacy aircraft with roots and development from the early 70’s.

@robmullins1427 the super hornet is considered a 4.5/5th gen the f18 hornet is a 4th gen the super hornet is considered a 5th gen because it has 5th gen AESA radar

Former Boeing... both F/A-18 Super Hornet and F-15 are amazing aircraft. In the hands of capable pilots, they can kick serious butt. F/A-18 was actually 1st gen stealth. It's inset air intake ducts hid spinning compressor blades that have high radar signature. We learned that from the F-15. Super Hornet's needle nose, windscreen angle, and coatings also reduced radar returns. If Super Hornet was not carrying external fuel tanks and bombs hanging off the wings, radar return was even less. Both have twin vertical stabilizers, but F/A-18 uses slanted with less radar reflection. Same design now used on F-35 and F-22. Also, F-117, B-2, F-22, and F-35 have internal weapon bays. They will open just long enough to drop bombs or fire missiles. I have seen both F/A-18 and F-15 go full vertical and climb like a rocket ship. Both can pull enough G's to melt your face. Really gotta get me a couple.. miss em.
