Interesting thing is this knife which cost 450$ comes from country where minimum wage is less than 500€ (ex. taxes). So basicly it is real SURVIVAL knife. You spend your whole wage to buy a knife and try to survive the whole month with it.

Trimming trees how you did in the beginning is how they end up stressed. The short little branches that grow out far below the crown are water sprouts. They are expressed when stressed, and are a warning the tree might not last if conditions dont change. Does it really matter? Eh, your trees will probably be fine. Am I a tool who studies trees? Well, yeah... But you might really enjoy the utility of something like a silky pocketboy for tasks like that

Elmax, have a love hate relationship with elmax steel. You know, love to hate it, but hate to love it. I make knifes as a hobby, and did a few in elmax, its a pretty brittle steel, definitely not for chopping knifes. The only stainless steel I would make as a survival knife/chopping knife that works is AEB-L or Nitro-V. Tried to chop through a mailbox some weeks ago with a chopper I made with one made in Nitro-v, took a chip, but nothing massive compared to what I did with it. And it works great, in fact AEB-L and those type of stainless steels, are better and tougher then a lot of carbon steels out there. But elmax, last knife I made had to temper it for almost 12 hours, and its a lot less chippy and brittle now. That TRC is thick sauce, and at a knife that size would work as a survival knife, if it was any longer and bigger, then Elmax is a no go for chopping. Its impact resistance is for shit.

@PaleBlueDot People seem to like Condor Hudson Bay. I would recommend Roselli Large Leuku. Their regular high carbon steel (not UHC) is great, very tough and holds a nice edge. Roselli would be my first choice, even though it is more expensive than Condor. However, it is not in the price range of LT Wright Gen 3 or Bark River Canadian Camp II (I own both of those).

450$ for car tires is cheap. I put way more on something that important. With that being said. CPM 3V is an AMAZING steel! But it rust and it’s not a careless steel. Elmax is a really good compromise between toughness, edge retention, ease to sharpen and rust resistance(which you don’t have with 3v). I can sell a good maintain knife if ever i’m in need. It doesn’t loses a lot of value, like guns. I know people who spend more than that on drugs and beer in one month so for me it’s not that bad of a decision. And i’d go with bark river instead. Don’t like the look at all of the LT

It’s probably not the case over there, but here in California, people will pay a lot to take a mature palm tree off you. @Case16710 3 жыл бұрын
@@CedricAda I think a lot of commercial buildings (malls, hotels, resorts, etc.) were buying them up around here a few years back, and so the normal supply chain was running out. People want these old ones because they take a long time to grow, and I guess nobody wants to be seen with a short and skinny palm tree. I don’t think normal home owners want them that badly. Also they are out of style here now, since everyone’s doing low water usage, native plant landscaping.

Lionsteel knives are cheaply made and they cut corners every chance chance they get and especially with their infamous " Full Skeletonised Tang " as in the M4 and others and the M7 has one of the worst tangs and it's deliberately deceptively hidden! I own the M4 in M390 with Black G10 and its got a Skeletonised tang and it make a lovely little chamber inside the knife for sweat, water, blood, whatever to get in and start corrosion, lucky that M390 is so rust resistant, but the tang choice is no good for the simplest reason, it's weak, and M390 isn't a particularly tough steel. It's a great little knife for little tasks but Lionsteel shouldn't go to such efforts to conceal their knives tang constructions, and they do, they also blatantly lie about them. I find Lionsteel a dubious, questionable company at best in all aspects of their knife manufacturing.
