The fact that both would've been a farmer and have a peaceful life if not being an artist lol even Zayn is already a farmer now, and Kyungsoo got to experience being a farmer at his recent variety show 😂

in my opinion olivia rodrigo is more huh yunjin than rosé... yunjin's solo songs actually sound like olivia songs to me and their voices/vocal styles are pretty similar!! they also both have the musical theatre background + storytelling vibe. both american too!

these comparisons are pretty spot on! when you said demi and zayn i immediately thought of solar and kyungsoo, respectively. for christina i wasn't intuitively sure who would be a good counterpart, but your choice of hyolyn was truly inspired. i'm not as on-board with the olivia-rose comparison-- like you said, i think the difference mainly comes from olivia's theatre background.

I would say Taeyeon and Adele! They are both singers who can convey so much emotion with their voices, Taeyeon cover of when we were young is my absolute favorite cover because you can really feel the emotion of the song. They're both storytellers.

Before I knew Kyungsoo and Zayn were similar, Kyungsoo is my most beloved kpop singer and Zayn is my favorite in One Direction. I think Zayn is less skilful but his tone and texture are what attract me. Kyungsoo has good technique and beautiful voice which make him the best kpop singer in my eyes

I was really sure you would choose Lily for Demi because they are both singers who use their mixed voice a lot. Other pairs that really fit each other imo are: Belle x Ariana Grande - esp in the beggining when her technique wasn't as polished Hwasa x Rihanna - similar tones and a more raw approach to singing Swan x Billie Eilish - "cursive" singers with a smokier tone and great agility

I personally thought of Ailee the moment Christina was mentioned since they're both powerhouse vocalists with great riffs and belts. Also, Solar is often compared to Christina Aguilera for the clean and powerful belt she does at the end of 'Mr. Ambiguous'. Her power and volume is evident in how far away she has to move the mic from her mouth to prevent the equipment from going out on her lol

You can't do that stuff sustainably as a singer without a really good understanding of how to use your voice. It's probably a big part, along with the fact that it leans dramatic and hence attracts people who tend train in fine arts more than pop does. Also, I'm not blaming you for not being willing to push outside of your bubble of safety to find better music, I'm blaming you because you made a wildly terrible and inflammatory take, and have now openly admitted that you don't actually understand the subject matter.
