Apparently, there is a sanity system in this game. It's not like you get 1 event and the character goes crazy. According to wiki, it's looking more like this: A *bunch* of events that *decrease* sanity => insane character There are a lot of things that decrease sanity, like (Quote from Wiki): family members dying or failing to return from expeditions, being the only character remaining in the shelter, or attacking their neighbors. *Characters with status "crazy" run away from the shelter in 20-35 days* There is also a list of things assigned to characters that they can break, while there are crazy: *EVERYONE CAN BREAK 1WATER/1FOOD* *they will 100% break their items, if you are keeping them insane till they run away.* List of items: *Crazy Ted* Breaks: - gasmask - map *Crazy Dolores* Breaks: - radio - deck of cards *Crazy MJ* Breaks: - flashlight - axe *Crazy Timmy* Breaks: - medkid - boy Skout handbook Crazy characters have *more* chances to get lost in the wastelands (sane characters can get lost as well) Map and flashlight can help not to get lost Ik, it's a ton of information, but I tried to explain as short as I can P.s. crazy Timmy wears a soup can on his head

If you send anyone out within the first 20 days (most radioactive time) with the gas mask, they shouldn't come back sick. Doing more expeditions increases the risk of bandits turning up after day 40. Also, Dolores is actually OP - bunker could be a total madhouse and she rarely goes crazy. Loving this series ♡

I really need a part 2 pacific drive! Because of your gameplay i started to play it have around 12 in game hours, love your goblin loot playstyle and the story gets really interesting!

I think that thing with the doctors happens every time. The actual day that they come and heal you, you don't see it. It's not until the next day that the "sick" and "diseased" statuses go away. It kind of makes sense because when you give them medicine, or food, or water, their status doesn't instantly change. You have to advance to the next day to see what changed. Also, you can obviously play however you want, but I would recommend treating them right away when they get sick (if you can). You could cross your fingers and hope that the doctors show up, but my reasoning is that you can only have one med kit at a time. So as long as you have an unused med kit, you can never get another one. If Dolores gets sick and you leave her that way, and then Timmy comes back from a mission sick, then you have two sick people and only one kit. But if you use the kit to heal Dolores while Timmy is gone, then there's a chance that he could come from his mission with one. I'm sure you've also seen the one scenario where you can turn bug spray into a med kit but, again, that's only going to work if you don't already have a med kit. I think holding onto it for a long time is a bad idea. (But that's just my opinion. I can also see the argument for wanting to wait to use it.)

The main benefit of feeding/hydrating every 5 days is mostly just its easier to remember! I have a really bad short term memory and it makes it easier to remember rather than "wait is it day one or two of dehydration?" Also I play on switch and ngl idk how to check their stats like if they're dehydrated on there. Different things work for different people but the every 5 days thing is what most people stick with bc of Convenience!

so on the page where it says to prepare for an expedition for tomorrow, the chances of survival is based on how the character feels on that page (example Dolores is feeling excellent) she has a super high chance of coming back but also it depends of if theres radiation outside which can cause her to be sick once back (if you don't bring gas mask) but if it says raiders its best to not send anyone (though if its really needed you can but with something to defend themselves (but its risky) feel free for anyone to tell me wrong everyone is still learning after all😄 Edit: if the character is crazy I'm pretty sure its a low chance they come back.

I've read on wiki that flashlight increases the chance of getting anything in an expedition/returning from expedition, so maybe you should try this set in the future: Suitcase+ 1) smth against bandits 2) gasmask *if early* expedition, Skout book *if late* 3) flashlight *I DON'T KNOW, IF ANYTHING GOES WELL, THE DECISION IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU*

After many hours of 60 sec every run i feed them every 7 days and give them water every 5 days . They survived every run.

I thought you might wanna know that the doctors purposefully dont come to heal until someone becomes diseased/agony at which point the doctors only help on the day that person would die. Have no worries, the docs save you at that moment so its a good thing when MJ got diseased (though im not sure if it heals craziness too)

Mary jane didnt really die, she was so angry she ran outside to hunt and destroy those bandits but she's still alive out there somewhere probably filling a swimming pool with fresh water and eating bandits

When I play, I pay attention to what the notebook says. So if it's like, "Mary Jane really needs to eat," I'll feed her. You do end up giving them food and water fairly often, but for some reason, it works out. I could be totally wrong, but I think bringing them to the brink of death from starvation and/or dehydration makes them more susceptible to illness and less likely to have successful missions. I've played using that strategy and gotten to the end with all of them alive. I've also beaten all of the challenges.

Eager to get one ending with both the cat and the dog. You actually can do that if you get Pancake first and then Sharikov. And it’s interesting if it will trigger any other events between those two.

7 days for food, 5 for water. The starvation debuff makes them need more food. Proof is your end game stats. 4.25 water consumed, 5 food consumed. Water on day 5, 10, 15, etc. Food on day 7, 14, 21, etc.

I feel like I'm blowing up your comment section, but oh well! LOL The items that you take with you on missions can help determine what you bring back. So if you need food, you should take either the checkers or the bug spray. But that only works once. The padlock, deck of cards, and radio should all increase your chances of getting water. (Again, just the first time out. It doesn't work every time.) This is all according to the Wiki, so don't hold me to it, but I used the Wiki for help when I played and their tips seemed to work. I've never gotten mutant Mary Jane though, so now I want to try to get her and see if I can finish the game with her. Does that even count as "winning?" You survived but your kid is a mutant? 🤣

When you choose Timmy, it increases *BOTH* sanity, *BUT* ants are gonna eat 1 can of food *THE DIARY EVENT* Man, this event is literally useless, just respect MJ's privacy, and everyone will be happy *PHONE CALLS EVENTS* I think all of them increase everyone's sanity, when you send someone, as well as they decrease, when you don't send anyone.
